i trained and worked as an artificial insemenator with the scottish milk marketing board ,ha many years ago ,i did this work for 5 years ,the semen was kept it tanks of liquid nitrogen ,in straws made of plastic ,we would take out the straw and put it in our teeth so it would thaw with our breath whilst we prepared the gun ,some of the older semen that had been stored a while ,usually for specialist breeders would be in a wider straw ,when held between the teeth they would sometimes split,giving us a rather nasty mouthfull I could have lived out my entire life wihtout knowing that information!! Yikes!!  |

Adam needs to be everywhere. Singing on every thing he can. Lots or radio interviews and promo. Talk shows, awards shows, etc. He needs to be in and on magazines and just make him inescapable for a short while. Oh and lots of radio play. Plus super duper special things that may not specifically be about his own music--like the queen thing--but that raise his profile and remind people of how awesome he is as a performer, etc. I hope he can at least get Kelly's and Daughtry's level of promo, and I hope it can exceed it or maybe have some more out of the box promo things happening. So far the UK article was nice. Amazing actually. I want a lot more WOW AMAZING!! =) THIS!! I truly believe "King Joe" and DMG are cooking up something New! Now! Next! But in no equation I could ever conceive of does part of that "brilliant new strategy" = put Adam on ice for three weeks until the single flounders because no one but fans know it's out there. That is why I totally disagree with the notion that he will not be doing promo in January. |

I feel sorry, because BTIKM is not a video. I looked at Finnish Voice TV "most downloaded songs". I know that BTIKM is in first place.. But because the video does not exist, BTIKM not even mentioned >:(. Voice TV Finland is a very powerful music distributor, and I think it would be really good, if the video would be released at the same time as the song. I fell in love BTIKM myself, until I saw Adam and I heard a song at the same time. Even if Adam does not sing at all in this video BTIKM, his presence is so strong and radiant, that I can imagine her singing BTIKM.  |

Ok, now I know this is getting seriously OT, but I'll admit I'm weirdly curious. What do you do with the frozen stuff? Defrost in a bit of warm water than use? Or is there a special warmer that goes along with the jerry cans of frozen....um...reproductive material used as one travels from farm to farm? I've been doing some housekeeping in other threads and suddenly realized I hadn't read the news thread for a few hours. OMGLMAO I nearly feel off my chair! I really could have done without the mouthful of warm bull semen. ??? ??? ;D ;D ;D ETA I needed one of blueberry's cows too. So cute! |

I, for one, firmly believe there is going to be MUCH promo in January.
Which reminds me, I need to find a better storage box for my Adam stuff. :D

But they've all received EXCELLENT promo opportunity. The material wasn't that strong, but even their fans couldn't blame lack of promo for the lack of sales. Therefore, they should be considered the BARE MINIMUM, from which Adam's team would build from, not "Hey! I know! Let's erase him from the face of the planet during and after his single dropping!!"  I think the rules are changing. I don't know how, but lookin at my children, I think a lot of promo is escaping from the hands of medias like radio and going towards social media. And capability to create connection between music and individuals is the key. And Adam is a genius to use both, social media and creating meanings. So he will be fine. And again, I know nothing. I am agreeing here, I think. I have thought for some time now that some of Adam's seemingly 'odd' tweets were really a 'testing of the social media waters'. Often the way 'cool' restaurants, clubs, etc gain cool cred is by situating themselves in odd places with little ways to find them unless you are 'in the know' or 'one of the cool people'...in other words, old fashioned 'word of mouth'. It would not surprise me one bit if this was a testing of whether this form of subtle, 'let the fans do it' experiment to see how far the cut will travel before all the 'already planned and in place' promo kicked in. What better way to determine 1) how effective social media really is, and 2) how effective and necessary the media push is. Just a thought...I have been considering it and suspecting this for some time but had neither time nor specific inclination to put it out there til now. :  :-/ |

His first book was "All Creatures Great and Small" and he writes of his experiences with the animals he dealt with, as well as their owners. I agree the Queen appearance was unique and different but that wasn't selling Adam's music. Well I have no real knowledge about this besides my own opinion, but I have to totally disagree with this. I think what that performance did for his recognition level outside the US, is priceless, especially in the UK, and regardless of whether he was signing his music or not, the awareness that will bring him for his upcoming album will be invaluable, mainly because his performance was soooooo amazing. I also think if he is fortunate enough to get to perform with Queen at the Olympics, that will be the biggest score for his career he may ever have. |
