Enjoyed the LA review. And love that Adam is recognized as the star he is with his own talent and showmanship. Not a wannabe seeking attention off of the star power of others but bringing his own classy but rockstar and edgy style and outstanding vocal skills to the table. Accolades well deserved.

Those contacts are weird. I know he has worn them before, but they are just weird I love all the accolades that Adam has received during this QAL tour. However, I wish they would stop saying (even in a good way) that he is paying "tribute to Freddie". I know it is just a phrase, but in my mind it gives credence to those who call QAL a tribute band. Forgetting that Brian and Roger also wrote the music and had the band (Smile) before Freddie was even around. Celebrate Freddie, bringing the music to life, etc. would be better. I now hate the word tribute. To me "tribute" bands are imitators. QAL is not that. I hope this coming year brings Adam back with a solo tour. I would love to see him live with his own music. Fingers crossed! I wish him much success with the bar. I think it is great that Roger is in on it with him. What a wonderul bond the three have created.

But Adam adds to that when he says in interviews he is paying tribute to Freddie or he is a guest. I don't think Brian and Roger asked him to front Queen as a tribute to Freddie. They found a dynamic frontman, with great talent and stage presence to join original members and to bring the band back to the level they enjoyed in the past. And after 10 years plus, saying you are a guest (not sure if he still says that but he has in the past) downplays the important part you play in the band. George Michael was a guest but Adam is their frontman. Adam is being humble but the media will enjoy using it no matter that Brian and Roger say how important he is to the band and their revival and these tours.

I know Adam says he celebrates Freddie, he may also say he pays tribute, I think it is an unfortunate phrase. I think the guest thing is Adam’s preference. I remember quite awhile ago in an interview he made a comment about it being a happy marketing decision. IMO he wants it + him so his name is out there, visible, separate from Queen. When Queen is no longer, he doesn’t want to just be known as the “former frontman of Queen” , again second to Freddie. The original 4 are legally Queen, I am sure they are incorporTed in some way with all the money they have made. Needless to say, Adam has brought them back. I seriously doubt they would be enjoying the popularity they are now without him. I would guess at least half of the audience is there for Adam. I just hope his star continues to shine for many years to come.

I am slowly "coming back to earth" now that the QAL North American Tour is over. I very much prefer the "Freddie in our hearts" line versus the "there will never be another Freddie" extension. I think he did both versions in SF and one night made me cringe. Other than that, the experience was nothing short of spectacular!! I understand that Freddie has risen to iconic status and that he needs to be acknowledged, both in the shows and also by critics, but I don't see many OTT Freddie accolades anymore, except them coming from Adam himself at times. Adam largely gets praise nowadays for being perfectly suited as Queen's frontman, yet for staying humble throughout it all. So please, Adam, don't revert back to "I'm not Freddie" after more than a decade!! I think the word "tribute" or "tribute band" would probably not pop up as much if QAL released new music together, but fact is that Freddie wrote some iconic songs, even though it was longer ago than he and Queen were together. On that topic, I just shrug my shoulders and enjoy the success of the Queen and Adam Lambert collaboration.
Moving forward, I am ready for more Adam solo stuff!! Hopefully it won't take too long.
(Pictures of his friends and "loved ones" aren't much of interest to me anymore, but cool that Adam had a nice kick-off for his co-owned bar "Wild".)

I just meant that after 10 + years he is more than just a guest. He is the Queen frontman (Queen and Adam Lambert sounds great) as well as a solo artist. In any event, the important thing is it has been a wonderful and successful collaboration. I hope they continue as long as they are healthy and enjoying themselves. Still can't wait for more solo career related news from Adam.
