Ok I have NO IDEA what that Leyton B dude means when he says that he doesn't think Radio 1 will add subsequent singles if they don't add his first single. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? THAT MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL. I can't believe this is true at all. Srsly, that is the stupidest programming decision ever. A lot of artists have singles that don't exactly work for whatever reason. He can't be right there at all....pffffft. And yeah IDK wut radio 1's issue is with Adam, whether they have an issue with him personally or it really just is about the music not fitting in with their playlist, but it is what it is. We can only hope they come around and add (I am not expecting that now tbh) or that the album is a success despite the snub--both commercially and critically--and with Queen performances (and hopefully tv performances in his own right) he slowly wins over the U market. Something I don't get tho in general is popular radio's obsession with EVERYTHIN being uptempo? Like does every effin song need to be a club banger to be on pop radio? I would think not--tell that to Bruno or Adele--but yet that seems to be the common reason as to why radio won't play a song, or specifically Adam's song. I don't get it. I don't wanna hear wall to wall dance music, I want some variety. Don't get that reasoning at all. Do I detect ANGST???? Calm down. Take a deep breath. LOL Srsly, I have to agree somewhat with smokeyvera: I haven't thrown in the towel on UK success but I'm steeling myself for some disappointment. ON THE OTHER HAND - As soon as I got in the car today I heard BTIKM on B104 (Allentown)! First time I have heard it during the day. It was during Ryan's show & I assume it was not syndicated but a local spin. Still good! |

OK Evening Standard last night said Princes W & H get to choose some acts for the Diamond Jubilee Concert. They're reported Adam fans js.

I have believed all along that this press junket that Shoshonna sets up does nothing for his airplay. I have been concerned with this since the press junket the last time failed to get him airplay. It seems to have failed him again. His management company or RCA US needs a cattle prod to get RCA UK on the schtick to get him going in the UK. All the press in the world means nothing unless the masses are hearing him. I can't even. This is like angst at CRITICAL MASS. I cannot take it!! waaah To be clear, I meant the situation is angsty not you specifically. |

My 75 year young Mom and I did go to one of Adam's GNT concert. It was great! He connects with all ages.

I got a bit sidetracked today and didn't get back till quite late. This sudden 'down' on Leyton Bracegirdle - He is the person who instigated all the Chart Show promo that's been happening this week. Yesterday, I posted about my nail lady who saw the SC's 5 Adam videos and then watched on repeat for 2 hours! Today, just as I was called away, she texted me to tell me about the interview that was on at 5pm today, the one everyone's been reporting on. I actually passed her while going across to my daughter's and she called to me out loud in the street, "40 minutes of Adam Lambert, I'm in!".  . She was bringing her son back from school along with a couple of other mums. Hopefully they heard and might even ask  . She also sent another text thanking me for lending her the GNT dvd. Her comment "It's mad he sounds so much better live. I think I'm going to like the next album even more." . So for me, Thank you Leyton . |

Man, I don't think I've ever scrolled through so may pages before! So much angst over a guy that is a Glambert and is just angsting!! I would have NEVER in a million years expected BTIKM to be added to Radio 1 this early. NEVER!!!! And I think Shoshanna is doing an AMAZING job! This press junket and exposure has been nothing like the one for FYE! Someone said it perfectly the other day, "She saw the opportunity from that EMA performance and drove a big glittery bus into it!"  |

On the UK radio topic - I remember when BTIKM was released DazGale (who is a young gay guy that lives in London and is a HUGE Adam fan) was less than enthusiastic. He said it sounded "too American". Whatever that means. From his tweets I get the impression it has grown on him but the original reaction was disappointment.
So the song could grown on UK peeps even if they don't love it initially. But how does a song grow on you if you never hear it? :-/
Just saw justgill's post & that's encouraging. But the song has to be actually heard.
Yeah, that darn ole roller coaster. Just can never escape it. Haha

Yeah it was A LOT but I think even us more levelheaded peeps are allowed to lose our composure for a hot minute when a UK industry person FLIPS THE FUCK OUT AND CAUSES MASS HYSTERIA. LMAO. As long as we take a deep breath and dust ourselves off I don't think a semi, temporary spazz out is *totally* uncalled for. lmfao. I also think it's ok to discuss it here...I mean better to discuss it and talk our~feelings out lololol then to go ahead and declare EPIC FLOPPAGE IMMINENT like some people I see doing. YMMV. |
