Here is today's news thread. Uhmmm, so did they have two, parties. One at Adam’s house and one someplace else? It seems he changed clothes mid-stream. I am not sure if I understand Cassie’s comment correctly. Surely, Adam has an innate vocal talent. Yes, he has trained really hard and really well. He worked to be the best and he is. I do watch Angela Kalahari’s videos and it is amazing to realize what he controls when he sings. I am thinking now it is all in his body and he just does it without all that thought anymore. However, I am also one of those that thinks when you see all,of the work that goes on behind the scenes it takes away some of the magic of the performance, whether it be a singer, dancer, stage production, etc.

However, I am also one of those that thinks when you see all,of the work that goes on behind the scenes it takes away some of the magic of the performance, whether it be a singer, dancer, stage production, etc. Hmmmm. You got me thinking. Is Adam's incredible voice the result of years of hard work and training, or is it something that comes naturally, as a "God given" talent? IMHO, yes. A bit of both. Angelina's videos are pointing out all the techniques he uses that, in combination, produce that amazing voice and performance. So, what about Adam do I think is "natural talent?" First is his physical body: The natural shape of his sinuses to resonate as they do. Perhaps the natural shape of his chest to resonate and fill with air. His "natural" good looks. His natural "personality." His mom has talked about him being drawn to all things musical and artistic since he was a small child. He had NO interest in sports, but sang and danced around the house, drew pictures, acted out little plays he wrote. He was also highly verbal and expressive starting at a very early age. Then there is the confluence of his nature with his nurture. He was raised by parents who were open-minded and accepting without trying to force him into conformity or expectations of a rough and tumble, sports minded little boy. Who gave him opportunities to explore and develop his artistic side. Who enrolled him in the children's theater group when children's sports groups held no interest for him. Being in a city that had those opportunities available. Being exposed to theater. Being in the theater group where the leaders recognized his passion and molded it. His parents providing (and having the financial freedom to provide) years of voice and theater training. Attending a high school with a strong music and theater programs. When all those things are combined with years of hard work and dedication we have an Adam who gets on stage and "naturally" creates the magic we are privileged to experience. No, he doesn't consciously think about how he focuses the vibrations of his voice to resonate in his body. How he articulates his vowels and consonants. How he uses breath support and muscles to sustain those long notes and phrases. How he infuses emotions and interpretations into every song. (Well, okay, maybe sometimes he does, as we know he can be meticulous and analytical and very self aware.) Some of us love to analyze and opine on how he does what he does. Some of us like to just bask in the sound and the vision of his voice and performance. We all love what he shares with us.

Amen, Cassie, especially to that last paragraph.
I am one of the fans interested in the technical. I used to do a lot of singing in my younger years, started singing when I was about 6 or so, at the top of my lungs as the stories go. I've always been a part of choirs or ensembles, and have done many a solos in church. But I never learned about any techniques, or the technical details about what makes our voices work, so I find it utterly fascinating the amount of details that go into sounding as amazing as Adam does.

Yep. Been following Adam since Idol and heard all of his stories even about listening to music with his family around the pool. But when I listen to his wonderful performances, I don't think much about his background. Tho I recognize he has worked very hard and had to overcome many roadblocks to get his talent noticed. But don't need a detailed explanation as to why I appreciate his talent so much. And I do believe his talent was there tho other factors had their influence. However, it is unlikely that most people who hear Adam, and think he is an extraordinary talent, know much about his family or training unless they are longtime fans. They know what they like and enjoy. But for those who are really into the details, there is much for them to chew on, lol. I just enjoy and appreciate his magic with my own eyes, ears and opinion. He brings me pleasure with his talent and great looks no matter how he got there. I guess that is why I rarely watch those reaction videos or those makeup videos. HA.
