lurleene, thanks so much for the article about a possible Original High re-do! I love that album so much! It is full of gems that deserve to be heard by a wider audience. And a bit of revamping is fine with me. Hope it happens!
And the clip of Adam in the studio is very exciting!
I think that amidst all our angsting about Adam's career and the direction it's going, there is a lot of new exciting stuff in the works. I know Adam asked his fans, "What should I do?" But it's not stopping him from actually doing lots of things.
In the meantime, Beyonce has blown the roof off the universe by jumping genres (OMG) and putting out a country album that has music and big stars all over the place. She has the status to jump genres whenever she wants to with no fear or risk whatsoever. It's a lucky position to be in.

lurleene, not everyone loved the demo version of The Original High better than the record version. I love the record version more! But my favorite song from that album is There I Said It! I was lucky to once hear it live from the front row!
The song that I wish Adam would re-record is Outlaws Of Love. The acoustic version he performed to just a 12 string guitar at the festival in Canada was gut renchingly beautiful! The percussion rhythm that was added to the record version did nothing for the song. It made me want to dance Rumba to the song and ruined the mood of the song for me.

She has the status to jump genres whenever she wants to with no fear or risk whatsoever. It's a lucky position to be in. Very true. Beyonce is a big star and can do whatever she wants and have label backing and have it succeed. But other artists without nearly as much star power have also had success putting out work in different or multiple genres. I have been pretty much told to "shut up" about Adam and rock/alt/ballads as he does not want to do that type of music, so I have been told on many occasions, lol. But I must say a few last thoughts. There are several reasons why rock/alt would not be out of the question or a stretch for him. The "cred" is already there if he wants it. There was a publication once that said Adam was the best rock vocalist and showman out there today. Many publications call him a rockstar anyway and I think many have been waiting for some rock with his solo work. Even Daughtry had praise for him and Daughtry just had his first #1 rock song on rock radio. He has been the front man for Queen for over 10 years to great accolades (all rock artists don't play instruments but they have bands to back them). He himself said in an interview he had to accept that he was rock. He looks and carries himself like a rockstar more than a pop star. Pop radio is not an option so pop stardom has been out of reach for a long time so what would be the risk of trying something else? And unlike many who start their pop careers in their teens or early twenties, he was almost 30. There are pop stars who sometimes look a little silly and less credible with a stage full of dancers as they get older (even when like Madonna they bring out black gay men dancing in high heels). But the rockers are rocking into their 70's and hardly anyone tells them they have no dignity unless their singing suffers. HA. But I digress and will buy the EDM/dance album to support him if he puts it out. And yes I understand that he will do the music he wants and loves. And he has a great career with so many diverse opportunities so always happy and excited for him.

I somehow thought Adam was asking what to do on SM, like tik tok and trying to stay relevant with the audience (and maybe new younger audience). I didn't get the impression that he was necessarily asking about his music or career per se.

I think I heard Adam himself say on one interview that he considers himself a rock star and so he feels successful. He doesn't seem to want to sing rock, but he clearly has the voice for it. But, then again, he actually has the voice for anything. I LOVE his ballads.

I just remember Adam saying MM wanted him to tone down his vocals. UGH. Yep and a good idea to sound like everyone else with the electronics, lol. TISI was one of my favorites as well. Do you remember when Outlaws of Love was used in that documentary. It was great.
