Wow. I know Jennifer Hudson will never miss the opportunity to try to outshine and out sing any duet partner but to see it while singing with and honoring Cher at the iheart music awards is a bit much. HA. That is one of the things I love about Adam, when he does a duet he helps them both shine and never tries to overpower even when he can. And he often will let the other person shine when they are trying to get the break and exposure that he already has. When Adam and Jennifer both sang with Idol finalists some years ago, Adam let Angie hold her own but Jennifer was acting as if she was trying to win the competition over the finalist she sang with, lol. Adam and Angie got the better reviews. I saw Xtina act that same way when she sang with a XFactorUK finalist years ago. Yes, she has a powerful voice, for sure. But her depth and control are nowhere near Adam's. She's a really good singer overall. It would have been interesting if Adam had sung Believe with Cher doing the faster disco version as she did with JHud. Now, THAT would have been something to hear! Agree that Adam is the best duet partner our there. He has total respect for his partner, and he is humble. (maybe more than he should be, LOL) |

But, unlike Adam, she cannot sing just anything. She has a particular voice for a particular type of music. I thought Nessum Dorma was awful on her part and amazed Adam managed to hit the key - but why would I doubt it. I also find in the talent competitions the celebrities area all about themselves. I think Adam is the only one who knows how to duet. Most of them make the contestant their backup singers. He just knows how to do it and make both shine. He is fabulous with Beverly Knight. Two powerhouses who know how to respect each other and the music. I didn't see the show, so can't comment.I believe Adam knows who he is, and knows what he has got and it doesn't diminish him to allow someone else to shine or shine along with him. |

I agree, Adam is amazing with his duets. He never takes over, at least not that I've ever seen...especially not if it's a contestant, like that Katie Kadan, or that gal on AI, and I forgot her name lol.

I know this thread is yesterday but discussion about duet partners always sets my mind awhirl with others I'd love to hear him sing with ...
My all-time dream pick is KD Lang.
And given he's doing The Voice with her - I think he and Leanne Rhymes would blend beautifully.
