The great thing about Adam is, he is a good judge and team player. He never tries to overshadow the other judges or upstage the contestants. But he does stand out naturally and is always one of the favorite judges. One of the reasons I could not stand Harry Connick Jr. when he was a judge on Idol. He tried to outshine the other judges and the contestants too by showboating at every opportunity, lol. When you know what you are talking about (like Adam) and are confident, and your charisma is natural and unpretentious, you will shine. So many of the other judges on some shows are so annoying because they try so hard to be the center of attention.
Glad Adam is out of the Wild if it did not work for him. He has many other things to do with his career so no worry about it, lol.

First, as per lurleene's post about Adam's career trajectory after Idol, I think, among all those other things, is that he just got on the show a bit too old. Late twenties. Too old for a young teen fanbase to follow for very long. And lurleene did mention this, too. So many factors played a part in his unexpectedly bumpy ride that began his solo career. Considering all of that, he's doing pretty darn well. He compensates by doing lots of other things. And there is always new music on the horizon regardless of label, radio, management, whatever. He's still right in there kicking vocal ass.
Too bad about The Wild, but it sounds like it was a good move for him to get out. Don't know what Oliver's involvement is, but he seems to like being there and keeping busy. Hope we get a few Voice vids.

Well, his career trajectory may or may not be what he imagined in his early 20's, but he has a career, solo and part of Queen, so I'm sure he isn't terribly unhappy about how it all played out. I always remember that video clip of when he was really, really young where he says that he just wants to do this (perform) for the rest of life (or something like that) and that's exactly what he's doing.
Not everybody can say they're doing exactly what they want with their life.

Adam was in very good company with Max Martin and Dr. Luke. They worked with all the biggies. Too bad they didn't take him to the highest heights like they did with the others. I'll never figure it out. Probably a number of reasons. I'm sure his sexuality played some part (at that time). And his start took a hit with the AMA's and Elvis Duran saying he would not play FYE. Not a good start. But I think the biggest drawback was he was not female. And the women rule pop and his label did not get him any exposure anywhere else. Nor was he one of the teen/early 20 year old males that the tween and teen girls (and their parents) were going gaga over. He also wasn't a rap artists who could dominate with streaming. And he came from Idol. Idol was a blessing for Adam because it gave him a fighting chance (which he made good of). But he did not win and the contract for 2nd place was several hundreds of thousands of dollars but not a million. I saw once that Mariah Carey's label used over $3M to launch her career. There is a big difference between $3M and a few hundred thousands to make a career take-off. Even Frank Ocean once said in an interview that his career was going no place until Barry Weiss (former head of RCA) became the head of his label and put up millions to launch him. Money talks and can likely open up many pop radio and streaming playlist doors, especially at the beginning of a career. HA. And Sam Smith's label once bragged about how much effort and money they put into launching his career. And he came on the scene several years after Adam had been beat up and had taken so many of the arrows. But with talent and charisma, Adam is still standing even without many big hits. Never really cared for Elvis Duran, still dont't. So, I never paid attention, why did he refuse to play FYE and do you mean the single or the whole album? When he has Adam on (the only time I listen to him) he always seems so friendly and complimentary.

As far as Adam's career is concerned. I think he is living his best life. He is worth somehwere between 45-50 mil. More, I am sure than he ever imagined. He has a very diverse career and because of it, longevity that I don't think many performers enjoy. Yes, there is Jlo and Beyonce, etc. But there are only a handful that stick around. Adam always seems to be somwhere and in the most prestigious places - The Queen's Jubilee, Cannes, Oscars, etc. I just wish there would be more American stuff. Like the Voice in the US instead of OZ. Beside all of that he seems to be very well liked and respected in the industry, he is known as a "nice" person and is very philanthropic. He may not be a pop sensation but you cannot say he is not a star. I just wish he can continue what he loves to do for a long time.

Never really cared for Elvis Duran, still dont't. So, I never paid attention, why did he refuse to play FYE and do you mean the single or the whole album? When he has Adam on (the only time I listen to him) he always seems so friendly and complimentary. FYE the single. When the song came out, many fans were gleefully posting it was about S&M and sexual. Actually it was a song written for Britney Spears that she didn't use and it was given to Adam by Dr. Luke. And because of Adam's sexuality, many people and a lot of fans were making the leap that it was about some gay S&M. I had an uneasy feeling the chatter would hurt him. But the song was way tamer than much that was out there from rappers and the pop divas but Adam was under a different spotlight. If someone else had sang it, I doubt there would have been a problem. And when Elvis (a gay man himself acting all offended) on the biggest radio station in the US said he would not play it, it was doomed. And when the debacle of the AMA's happened, thankfully his label had already moved on to WWFM because FYE was not being played much at that point. And WWFM saved his album debut. I will always love that song and the fast movement of his label because that success helped to keep Adam from going under. And he is a wealthy and worldwide star today no matter what happened with pop star aspirations.
