April 27th is a Friday. That would make the US release 4/30 (if they go for a Monday) or more likely May 1st. Maybe Adam DID mean Maypril? :-/ These carrots hanging in our faces are getting pretty stale. Is there not some point where Adam or someone says...if something new or great comes along...it just has to wait for the next album cause this one is DONE!!! If he keeps tweeking and adding collabs or whatever, it will never be done...seriously.... And don't start piling on me that I am not as good a fan as some of you!! If you like...I will admit to being a lesser person. But this is not entitlement...this is a serious question...

I am going to guess that the April date is probably correct. What was it, April 3rd? Lots of discussion on Twitter about an April date and I think the consensus was that moving it to after Madonna's release is a very good thing. If he released March 20th, it would have been the week before Madonna and all her PR would have been everywhere. Hopefully, by April 3rd or even April 10th, her hype will have died down. That being said, I am not expecting Adam to get #1 either way. Adele isn't going anywhere and Madonna will probably be at #1 for a few weeks. But also, I'd prefer great numbers and sustained sales with a great #2 single, over a #1 spot any day!! Yikes! Nicki Minaj moved her date to April 3rd! I know she sucked last night and that Stupid Hoe song and video was a bust, but she sold a ton of cds last time. :( well - if they are waiting for the perfect release date for Trespassing, Adam will be old and gray before it happens. There will always be some "Yikes!" other artist releasing. The CD will never be perfect and neither will the release date. Set the damn date and go with it, for pete's sake. I would hate it to be another David Cook scenerio and wait so long that everyone except stans forgets about him and the CD tanks. *grumble.moan.rant* :-/ Oh yeah - Happy Anniversary Atop. ;D ETA- mszue-Looks like we are having the same thoughts. 8-)

Update on Queen/Adam: Posted on Brian May's SOAPBOX 2/12/2012 **Sat 11 Feb 12** QUEEN'S (ER II) JUBILEE I've have had many messages from folks who would like us to be at the Jubilee show, and I'd like to say thanks to you all, folks, for the support. The truth is that, quite simply, we haven't been asked to be part of this 60th celebration. But that is fine - we don't have a right to expect anything. We gave our all to the 50th (and 'my tower' is still intact !) - so now, it is somebody else's turn. There are a lot of great artists in Britain who deserve a shot ! We wish them all well. I'm sure it will be a great show. We have a couple of different surprises coming up later in the year, so we will be busy, and all is good. All the very best ! Bri What do you think, Chunkey? :D :D :D I PM'ed you my latest dissertation ;D www.brianmay.com/whatsnew.html

Production! It all comes down to production. Adele had the co-writers and production team for this album that turned her way with words into something more. The production elevated her songwriting and her voice to a whole other level. There is a reason why producers are the hit makers of today. BTIKM is not even close to RITD. I love Adam and his voice, but RITD struck a chord with MILLIONS and MILLIONS of people around the world. That song was lightening in a bottle! Not denying that at all, just saying that being played AROUND THE CLOCK certainly helped it become the massive hit it was. It could be an amazing song, but if radio didn't play the shit out of it then she wouldn't have had it sell a gazillion downloads. People discount the importance of radio--but hell even ADELE HERSELF thanked radio at the grammys for making her song catch on the way it did. #realness I'm not discounting radio. Everyone knows the importance of radio play. The demand had to be there! RITD took off around the world like crazy! When people started hearing it, they started requesting it and buying it. Adele didn't have some special deal where stations were playing her song every hour. It took a long time for RITD to make it from AAA to CHR and for it to make it up the charts, but when it did- it was a freaking explosion! On 60 minutes last night, Adele told Anderson Cooper that it was so fast and such a surprise, she couldn't even wrap her mind around it. She said she got off the plane one day and the song was literally everywhere! When a song works on every level, it just works.

By the time the album comes out we will have all the songs as singles. RCA needs to give him a time limit. I apprecitate he is having fun but I need new music.

I am beginning to wonder if moving back the dates in other countries will actually allow them to keep the March 20 date here. The logistics of delivering physical cd's worldwide makes a tight timeline impossible but we know that FYE was shipped out for US release in just under a month. I believe it was reported that Fever was recorded towards the end of Oct and was on the album. So what if since they know they are cutting it close they are instead shooting for still making the US release date of Mar 20th by concentrating first run production for US release and pushing back the dates in other countries. This may be wishful thinking but it is worth considering.

I don't even remember what we are even talking about anymore lol

I'm with you mzsue....*sighs* That would be well over a month past the date they gave us. This can't be the case of just finishing up one song, can it?...and if he's waiting for some incredible collab, maybe he should save that for album number 3.....it's getting very wearisome.
