WHOA, ok.
IMO the idea that *Adam* has pushed back the album because he is a perfectionist and wants more time to work on it is absurd and does not show a lot of understanding for how complex decisions are taken in corporations. Sony is still a corporation and a lot of revenue is at stake on this project.
Adam is executive producer of this album, but this means he has control over what songs go in the album. IMO it does not mean that Adam has final say as to the release date. There is promo, sales, distribution, etc. that depends on the release date of an album and hence this is a decision that is likely made at the *highest* level of RCA. Adam may have input, if he's lucky and has good management he will be listened to, but knowing how corporations work I think there's ZERO chance he has the final say on this.
Also, if they decided to postpone the album, it's a good thing IMO. It gives more time for BTIKM to grow at radio and for a second single to grow at radio before the album drops. To me, it shows that RCA has faith in this project and is not taking it lightly. The *worse* thing they could do is drop the album when there isn't a hit single from it to drive sales.

As someone mentioned a few days ago and this thought has stayed with me......unless you are a fan of Adam, you've not heard much about the single or the album here in the States. His radio promo's just started over Grammy weekend in LA. Now, he's in NY and doing radio promo's there. I really don't see BTIKM moving much until the end of this month. We have to keep requesting to help things along. The album will drop when it's done. I'm just glad we're seeing a lot more or Adam out and about and not back in that insidious drought of spring and summer!

Well, I'm not going to panic. Yes, it's frustrating as fuck, but I think it's likely the worldwide coordination of the roll out and yes, maybe one more dream collaboration. As I've said a bazillion times, it's the not knowing that drives me crazy.
I wish he'd let us know what's up so we don't continue to play this guessing game and chase our tails.
But love seeing him do promo and he continues to seem psyched and one week continues to roll into the next and somehow, some way we'll make it. I do feel for the New Zealand fans who have went to such great lengths to plan the release party – like Mayumi's – and I wish TPTB would "get" how much planning goes into these things so if they're going to change it, just say so.

I already posted that this new "release" is talking about the "Deluxe" version. Maybe the panic is for nothing.

Re the possible delay, I think it just means even more opportunities to see him in promo mode during the run up. I know we all want the music, but once it is out that will be it for probably the next two years so the longer he is out there selling both before and after the better for us! If he wants a hot collab he would otherwise have to wait years for if he didn't get it squeezed it in on this album I can see that being worth it- he has to live with these 12 songs and make a career out of them for a long time. In the meantime he will be everywhere all over radio and any other opportunities between now and then so I don't think he is going to be forgotten. And he seems to be happy and excited......glowing even!

WPST recently went from being a HAC to a CHR with very few, if any changes to their playlist and no change to their on air personnel.

I couldn't agree more. If RCA wanted this project out the door it would have already been launched. period. There are so many moving parts to launching an album and Adam definitely doesn't have the last word on the release date. If RCA thinks its a good idea to squeeze in whatever it is that they are squeezing in, then thats enough for me. Thats not saying I wouldn't love to be a fly on the wall during the discussions. 8-)
