Adam is always so respectful when he is in a totally different culture. He never wants to come off arrogant or pushy or rude, even by accident. He is pleasantly nice and funny and agreeable. He lets his big voice and strut come out on stage. It pays off. They love him in China. He's lucky to get to do these things.

When Adam completed for an award in China years ago, he was up against Bieber. It was so funny that fans reported that many Chinese parents wanted Adam to win because they viewed Bieber as a bad role model, lol. Love that Adam takes the culture into consideration. That is why it would bug me when some would say Sam did better in the US than Adam because he was a "safe" gay man. There was nothing un-safe about Adam. Just a different style and a more rock star like and sexy persona. Maybe he seemed more out of place in more generic pop or dance/pop. And Sam did better because he had a label that pushed, supported and made sure he received great radio play and exposure. His ballads, like Adele's, did very well on multiple genres, charts and appealed across generations and won many awards. But if they had put up some emotional ballads from Adam that showcased his extraordinary vocals, in my biased opinion, Adam could do it better. But his labels (or maybe he didn't want it) just never gave him the chance to show his unique talent.

But, I think Adam would have not been considered safe because he is sexy and very charasmatic. The women (although he would prefer the men) throw themselves at him. I don't think Sam was seen in that light. Just my opinion

I like Sam Smith's voice well enough, but he was never the handsome, sexy one. He's gone quite over the top with his costumes and stuff. Just goofy. Adam pushes the envelope a bit with his stage outfits, but he always looks sexy and stylish to me. I get a kick out of him in casual clothes, like now in China, when he's going around in huge shirts, baggy shorts and clunky shoes. A real California boy. Always cute to me.

GELLY @4gelly Gorgeous HQ official photos of @adamlambert ππ at The Singer in China and great article " Adam Lambert sang "Whataya Want From Me" on stage with ease, and the audience was so excited that they stood up.
