When I see Adam adorned with rhinestones and in full make-up as of his latest Instagram post - not sure the occasion, but I guess it was for a private event and he felt the need to share the look - I come to realize that he probably suppressed himself for a long time. The make up came back for Velvet and stayed on for High Drama, along with his love for platform boots (though I am aware that he adjusts a bit for various appearances). I keep asking myself if he ever gets tired of all this at age 42 haha, but I don’t think he ever will as I think it’s in his DNA. I got on board of this crazy train because of his voice but that for me is just a tiny and easily forgettable part of Adam’s “persona” at this point. I have always preferred the “less is more” aka “sanitized” Adam and that’s one of the reasons why the TOH era has been my favorite so far. Currently it’s definitely not about what I fell in love with and I have a hard time re-establishing for myself Adam’s musical identity. I respect his artistic needs and choices but I am confused and a bit disappointed at the same time, though in general I do enjoy electronic music. Lots of rambling.. sorry. I’m pretty much with you. It’s gotten so I only check in here once or maybe twice a day, and sometimes I realize I didn’t even check in…

The Gay40Times article on Freddie wouldn't have liked being called queer - www.gaytimes.com/music/queens-brian-may-says-freddie-mercury-would-not-have-liked-queer-label/ was posted on 6/22 but follows right after the interview with Adam today. I'm bringing it up again because of one line... "they respect his privacy. But we found a way to speak about it in a respectful manner,” the ‘Runnin’ singer explained via The Mirror." I've never heard Adam described that way. It's a favorite song for many of us though so the article writer is a definite glambert According to Spotify, Runnin' is his 3rd most popular track after the two big singles. Ghost Town has 305 million, WTWFM has 170 million, and then comes Runnin' with nearly 69 million plays. Not bad for a bonus track - a great song is a great song! So either the writer is indeed a Glambert, or they wanted to use a song name that is neither of the two usual suspects and checked out Spotify for ideas...

7Adam Lambert American Idol
Adam Lambert was not the first, nor will he be the last, gay American Idol hopeful, but when he appeared on the eighth season of the show, he made waves as an out and proud contestant. Unafraid to present his truthful self, Adam Lambert covered Rolling Stone during the run of the show. While competing, he was known for transforming classic songs in a manner that only he could do, making some of the most iconic American Idol moments in the show's history. Shockingly, he may have been too much for the voting public as Adam Lambert ended up coming in second place. A victory didn't hurt his career as he has released a five studio albums and became the frontman for Queen. Adam Lambert will forever be one of the most dynamic exports the show has ever seen.

I love Runnin', too. Interesting that it was chosen to refer to Adam. In this current Adam phase, new wide-appeal music is a side-issue. Adam is busy being an advocate for the LGBT+ community. He doesn't seem to have financial pressures. He's famous as a singer, but currently he's more visible as an issue-oriented, media celebrity. And a damn good one. Some A-list artists disappear for a couple years and then come back with immediate hit songs that top the charts. This is unlikely to happen with Adam, but I DO think that at some point he'll come out with some new edgy music (not like Afters) that will appeal to his fans. I'd like to see more rock than pop from him, but that's probably a far-fetched dream. He seems to always have something going on in the background that we don't know about. Hope so. Yep. I could be wrong but I'm viewing this EP as more of a Pride project. I know it is the music Adam likes, tho. But there have been many times over the years, when he was without a major label, but he did not put out only dance/club music. And maybe he wanted to put out music that appeals to the young men in his circle who party and club with him (he said they make him feel young). However, I'd like to think he will want to continue to put out more universal music, with depth and serious lyrics, that will appeal to his other fans. Most gave up clubbing a long time ago and many like me are allergic to exercising. HA. I became an Adam fan for his vocal talent and I like to hear his vocals front and center. His fashion style (when not going too OTT playing dress-up) and good looks are an added bonus. Most of the EDM/dance music just sounds the same. Almost anyone can do that and extraordinary vocal talent in not needed or showcased.

Seeing Adam in that AI pic above reminded me the other day I picked up a book from a free library. Published in 2015, called "Catfulness, The Path to Inner Peace," it has some cute illustrations about cats with quotes from the usual suspects such as Ghandi, Charles Dickens, Deepak Chopra, Benjamin Spock ... plus people I have never heard of. Then I happened to notice there was quote from Danny Gokey! Good grief!! That was a weird shock! LOL
