I think Adam, like any other artist, will say whatever it takes to sell the current work. So every album is THE album they've been waiting to make, THE project that's from their heart and soul...etc, etc, etc.
He's pretty much said the same thing every time he does promo for a new album, that that's the one that represents him the best. And maybe it is...for that time period.
I wouldn't put too much stock into anything he says in his current interviews. He's trying to get the EP out there and get people excited. Who knows what will catch his fancy in a year from now, or even 6 months from now.

lurleene, your last sentence says pretty much what I mean. I don't want Adam to box himself in by making music that only appeals to the gay community. Like I said in my post, I want him to be as edgy and current and he wants to be, but that doesn't mean he should never write music that has a broader appeal. It is possible for him to do it. It's not either/or. As a straight person, I like all kinds of music that go far beyond the mainstream. I'm ready for him to try keeping it new and edgy without losing loyal fans from all his eras. At least I hope he tries.

Every new album in THE ONE, etc. etc. Thanks for a dose of reality.

Adam was great on Andy Cohen's show. Looked spectacular, too. I assume that the thing he will be busy with in the fall will be the Cabaret gig. Hope so. It will be interesting to see what happens after that. My "common sense" brain keeps telling me that he will write new music again and will remain edgy but not in the Afters way. I truly believe that he'll have music that will be marketable for a broader audience. If that's just wishful thinking on my part, so be it. He says he has a new team. Hope they put his talents to productive use. In the meantime, he is out in the media in various ways, which is always a good thing. Beyonce can do no wrong. I hope you are correct. But Adam has gone out of his way to say he was never into music that was not dance/pop and EDM like what he and his friends listen to and enjoy. And that Idol pushed him into the rock lane and others pushed him to do music that wasn't really his thing. Maybe that was just to promote this EP but how do you come back later to do something deeper and more appealing outside that community after stressing those points? I mean, Janet, Jlo and Madonna are still doing dance-pop/club music well into his 50s and 60s. But those ladies have limited vocal talent so they have little choice but to dance away, regardless to how old and unappealing they look competing with the 20 somethings, who do more dancing than singing. I don't follow Ricky Martin so I'm unaware of what he is doing. But the last time I saw him a few years ago, he was dancing across the stage with Camila Caballo on an award show. He showed no growth and imo, just looked silly doing the same sh** he was doing over twenty years ago. Unlike George Michael who could dance, rock and break your heart with a ballad. George had enough talent to be taken seriously as an artist so he didn't present himself as a one trick pony. So I'm going to hold on to hope that Adam will not box himself into mostly only trying to appeal to younger gay men and men who like to dress in drag. Adam has said things before regarding music. I think it's what he feels at the moment. I believe he will move on to make more music to reach a larger audience. But, that doesn't mean he can't do things that he wants geared toward his own community. And, hopefully, being on Broadway.

Yes, obviously every artist will say they love their current album because they want people to listen to and buy their music. That is what they are promoting and they have to be positive. I also think that Adam will create more music that has a wider appeal. He is very creative and says he gets bored with any one thing. Maybe we'll get a cover album of Broadway music! Lots of people would hate that, but lots would love it!
Also if he does have the Cabaret role, a Broadway album would be a great follow up marketing-wise.

Adam found a seat on the left side facing the stage.. easy to find with his hair.
