About the “C” word title.. though intended more for himself and his community, as Afters in general seems to be, it’s out there in public. I am less offended personally and more taken aback as it doesn’t feel right. I don’t think that Adam is much of a strategist, but I do believe that he enjoys stirring the pot and being known as “not being subtle”. He clearly wanted to make a “splash”, possibly shake up his fandom, and get his music noticed. It will remain to be seen how far it reaches. The “C” word title is triggering enough for folks to listen to the song at least once. I do appreciate the respectful discussion of varied opinions here and I definitely reflected upon the comments on yesterday’s thread. That particular aspect of Atop gets me to visit almost daily. I could not agree more with @lurleene ‘s latest comment. Haha, totally agree that Adam likes stirring the pot...and probably needs somebody to reign in those wilder impulses. Don't know if Gabriel is that person or not. And it's certainly not his Mom. Did you catch the bit where Adam's Mom questioned the song title and he told her it might only offend a few people ... or something like that. I remember she has questioned his choices in the past with a little "Are you sure about that?" I know pi said it's just a word and you shouldn't give it power, but .... I bet every woman here has probably been called that at some point in their life and felt the nastiness of it. It dredges up bad memories.

Someone said gay men were reclaiming the word and making it a positive. But the c-word insult was not directed at them but at women. I know some gay men (not Adam that I've heard) think it is cute or funny to pretend they have a P***Y but they don't. They are men with d***s. And no matter what, most women will view it as a demeaning slur, even when we know Adam did not mean it that way. Fair it was music for his community but he is promoting it outside his community, so others will hear it. And yes, it will be more hurtful to some than others and some are understandably disappointed. For me, I'm more than ready to turn the page on this chapter (era) and hope for some more inclusive, thoughtful, sexy (not crass), edgy and universal music from Adam. A little rock and some emotional ballads too please. HA.

Interesting, I wonder what the event was with a lot of performers. I had just presumed it was a private party, but now I am wondering.

Yeah, and Adam headlined? Hmmm. Wonder what kind of event this was with a lot of other performers? I'm always curious to know what kind of money he makes at these private things. Lots I'm sure. Fun to ear him sing a snippet of Dragon Attack. Fun Queen song!
