I have read a review of Cabaret that indicates this production is very subjective. Which is supposed to be different from the past productions. So, whoever plays the part, will play what he sees the character to be. Should be interesting. Hope it is true. Also, hope he is in enough shows that they are not all sold out. I have seen replacements do as little as 3 weeks and as many as 6 months. it depends on whatever agreement they strike. I have seen several different articles, on the MC each have a different take. Adam would be under contract to replace the biggest lead of the show and I doubt his contract would be less than 6 months. Replacements are usually understudies filling in for the lead actors going on vacation or to allow the new actors coming in enough time to rehearse. I definitely think Adam would make the role his own. It’s a great part for him to be sexy, menacing and sing those fabulous songs. Can’t wait.If it's true. |

I'm the last person in the world to have issues with people not believing a casting rumor until it's officially announced. However, I will say I'll be shocked if this particular rumor isn't true. This isn't a case of fans reading into Adam's behavior and claiming it "means something." In addition to Sweaty Oracle, who is repeatedly doubling down on his claim, there was a tweet from a fan who said she has a Broadway insider friend who said it was true. I saw a post on the BroadwayWorld message board from a prolific, knowledgeable longtime poster who said it's true. Adam himself said he has a project being announced which will preclude him from touring - which, admittedly, could be anything, but would fit the rumor. None of this is proof, but IMO it's way more likely than not that we'll be seeing Adam on the Great White Way in September. |
