I'm confused? Are you not an American citizen entitled to vote? Very very unfortunately, there is an effort to disenfrancise American citizens who have "foreign sounding" names or who live in "foreign populated" districts by, you know who. Bravo to Broadway for attempting to make citizens aware that there are attempts to remove them from the voter rolls. Or to make them fill out provisional ballots, which will of course be subject to challenge. This is not a money-making promotional, but a legitimate outreach to make sure American citizens' votes count. Broadway performers will also be conducting phone call banks to encourage US voters to go out and vote. The list generated by this promotion will no undoubtably be used for that purpose. If you need more to schedule a visit to MYC to go see Adam in Cabaret - well, I guess we could accommodate you if you lack lodging - although we live 90 minutes away. We are going on Sept. 28 for the matinee. We are in NJ. There are tolls across the Hudson River, and parking garage fees, so it's not cheap, and for a visit to NYC, I could offer a room, but you would probably be better just finding a reasonable hotel. Hi Donnamb...now I am confused! Are you reacting to my frustration with that 'competition' for those tickets to see Adam...that was my frustration. No...I am not American...I am Canadian and I had no reason, I thought, to think only Americans were allowed to 'register' or that there was anything political about this. I never got near the opportunity to fill out a form for a chance to win...I just filled out the registration form which would not accept my address. That is the only way I realized that non-Americans were not invited to the party. There is no problem with having geographical contests but they never seem to identify that way until you get all excited and start trying to enter....that is my frustration. I am sorry if my note was confusing, I did not have any idea that was something political. I am happy if the theatre community is using their influence for good...I agree with you....that is great. I just missed the message I guess. I do really hope to get to see the show but my money is pretty weak against the US dollar and I am one of those financially challenged folks that have a difficult time feeding my Adam habit lol. I may yet find a way to make it happen...I just saw this as a contest well worth entering. Thank you for your concern though...I have met many lovely and caring and fun people by following Adam and Atop.

It seemed very clear to me that is was asking if you were registered to vote and since it is Broadway which is in the US I would take that to mean registered in the US. But there is also a link to the Sweepstakes Rules in which right near the top it clearly says US Residents ONLY.

I would never connect being registered to vote with political voting....we don't do that here...I thought you had to register for the competition. 2. I am one of those that goes straight to the first step, which I read as 'registering to vote" for the chance at the tickets. Again, I would never in a million years expect to have to prove I planned to vote in a political election as a pre curser to filling out a chance to win a ticket to a Broadway event!!! Actually...on second thought....we do register to vote....but it just has nothing to do with pop culture and I did not connect the dots at all....our system is just so very different...sorry... I am astounded!! This is what Culture shock looks like....

I am astounded!! This is what Culture shock looks like.... LOL It's all good. I totally understand having a different viewpoint. But I think in this as with many other things the idea that this will be seen globally and how people from other countries will view it is just not something that crosses the minds of those creating the marketing. I agree it can be a little short sighted of them an it IS frustrating that people STILL don't seem to understand that stuff online can be viewed from ALL over the world. ETA: Add to that the general blindness of American's toward the rest of the world and it isn't really great. There is a tendency towards not even considering that there might be any other viewpoint than American. I find that frustrating and I've barely ever been out of the country. LOL
