I am checking in out of curiosity while I am recovering from a broken wrist. I’m okay, no pity please. Anyways, it would be interesting to know how many fans old and new, who celebrated the Afters chapter with Adam, are checking him out at the Kit Kat Club as well. Wish I could, but it won't be me. Not working anymore, a trip to Broadway is definitely not in my budget. Hope a lot of fans do go though. And I'm sure the usual suspects will be there lol.

I was one who said the Afters EP did not do that well. It did not make the BB200 and that was a first for Adam. He has not scored in the top 3 like he did with his first 3 albums since he left the major labels. And that is understandable. But his other indie albums (Velvet EP and final Velvet and High Drama) did make it on to the BB200 Charts tho not high like he did with the majors. And a lot of his regular fans could not support it and he was okay with that. He pleased himself, his boyfriend and his crew with Afters and performed at gay clubs. So as long as he was happy and did what he wanted, he achieved his goal.
I don't think the gay community has ever given their full support to any male gay singers. Billy Porter did not make it onto the BB200 charts either and his album was definitely aimed at his community. He was even dressed in drag for the promotion. The few gay male artists who have done well had to capture and appeal to the mainstream too and not just the gay community. That community seems to reserve their major support and album and single buying for the female divas (Beyonce, Taylor, Katy, Xtina, and new darling Chappell Roan) and the guys can't compete with that as hard as they may try. HA.
But I think Cabaret will attract a diverse audience for Adam like other Broadway shows.

It’s very hard with an EP with only 6 songs anyway. I think it’s 10 songs that get counted, so, if you have only 6…. The charts rely so much on streaming, that Adam even with a big label support wouldn’t stand a chance. All his streaming numbers over the years added aren’t as high as some of the current chart stormers achieve within a week. So there’s no point for Adam to chase the charts.

I don't know if Adam wanted Afters to make the BB 200 charts or not. Didn't hear him say. But I do know that EP's with six songs do make the BB200 charts. The first part of Velvet was an EP with less than 10 songs and it made the BB200, I believe in the top 100. Then he released the full album with more songs and that made it into the top 100 as well. But doesn't really matter if he wanted to make it on or not. It didn't for the first time and you only need to sell w/streams around 4K to make the BB200 chart at 200. But he put out the work that he wanted and it made him happy.

Too bad Oliver decided to go to LA first. Call me judgy and not my relationship, but I kind of think you should be at your partner's opening night. It seems his fans are more excited than his partner is.

From what Gelly posted on X this is actually not the official opening night. It’s a preshow. The new cast has a couple of preshows, before the the opening night with media coverage. x.com/4gelly/status/1835796755767562355?s=46&t=FRhvVbs9OZwKJqMgTXKbcw

Well, it sounds like, reading the other thread, that today is the 1st preview day, not actually opening day? Not a Broadway expert, so don't know how that works.
Not judging Oliver, but I don't think it's fair to say that Adam's fans are more excited than he is. How do we even know that?
