The positive reactions to Adam's Emcee performance are beyond my wildest expectations. We die-hard fans know how great he is, but it's so satisfying to hear such accolades from those who don't follow him closely. We know he's been a "hidden gem" for s long time. Now, he is showing how multi-talented he is really is. Doors will open.

Yes, the Musical in regard of history only makes sense, when people know about that history. As for the visuals: I was referring to our theater production here in Berlin. I saw that last month and the visuals would for sure not be approved by everyone. But fact is, that the 1920s in Berlin had been WILD. After that we unfortunately stepped back in many regards into the middle ages. But honestly: 16+ year olds (and even the younger kids!) watch much more or worse online. Yes, but that is on their own time. This would be a school-sponsored trip and it sounds like this show is too naughty (raunchy) for some parents. Teachers have to be much more careful these days. Books are being banned in a lot of the states here in the US, and certain people are having shit fits over drag queens. I doubt a school trip to see Cabaret is in the near future.

How could it happen that the banning of books has become acceptable in the land of the free? The last time that happened here had been in 1933, when the new formed dictatorship by some A.H. and his Nazis had taken over.

I’m writing this having traveled for the last 24 hours and slept in airplanes, so I don’t know how many things I’m going to forget or how much sense I’m gonna make… My sister and I traveled to NY. We saw Cabatet’s huge billboard in Times Square and also another ad in one of the subway stations, I wish I remembered which one. I took my picture with it lol. https://www.instagram.com/p/DB7PPGaIXwQ We went to see the show on Tuesday the 29th. I’ve written here in short about it. The place really felt like a nightclub, the illusion worked for me. Behind the 3 front rows that have tables, the other rows have long shelves for tables. We were so close, in the fourth row on the “south west” of the theatre. As I wrote, Carmit was right behind me with two other people which now I know were Leo Moctezuma and an Etty Laufer (do we know her?). They had a bucket with a bottle of Moet. I could see Adam so closely and was captivated by his smallest gestures and facial expressions. I also loved how versatile he was in every way. During the show he embodies what others are feeling and sometimes he embodies the zeitgeist, so he has to be many things all in the span of 2.5 hours. Someone sat very close to me who I thought was part of the show, but afterwards at the stage door I realized it was Ja’mie. She was amazingly dressed and made up. I posted my video of the stage door, but here it is again. https://www.instagram.com/p/DBvDj3msqKg I didn’t talk to Adam or ask for a picture because I was so under the weather, I didn’t want to infect him with anything. Also, I was shy On Friday Nov 1 we went through Times Square again and saw that the ad had changed. Adam’s expression is so seductive in this new ad, I love it. https://www.instagram.com/p/DB7PlVpo9eP That night was our last in NYC, and I bought another ticket on a whim. I felt better and thought I hadn’t experienced the show to the full. This time I took a seat in the mezzanine on the “south east” because I wanted to experience the show from a different view. I’m so glad I did. The illusion of being in a nightclub was no longer there, this time it felt like a theatre, and I could no longer see the slightest expressions, but! - First of all, I felt like the show was simply better. The actors (like me) were no longer under the weather (I suspected some of them weren’t 100% the last time because they slightly coughed). Secondly, the crowd was better, especially on my side of the mezzanine, they were cheering loudly and participating. Third, I could see how it all looks from above, and it was pretty stunning. And most importantly - I discovered where the third bar is At this show I realized how much Adam is the electrifying force behind the show. Sally has the grandest numbers; Fraulein Schneider has the most touching ones. But the M.C. give meaning to everything, and Adam as the M.C. is the one that captivates the audience, draws them in, and makes the atmosphere so thrilling. That is my take, and I’m completely objective .

Eeeee, Katycake, I'm so happy you got to see Adam in NY. Sounds like you had a great time. Thank you so much for your recap, even though it sounds like you're still tired from your long trip.

The last time that happened here had been in 1933, when the new formed dictatorship by some A.H. and his Nazis had taken over. Banning books has also happened in Canada but to a much lesser degree. Change can seem to happen too quickly for some people and they push back. But there is a worrying feeling that dark forces are rising in the world. At least Adamtopia is a positive place!
