I understand that a song goes recurrent when it has been on Billboard for 20 weeks and drops below 50 but what does that really mean? Does the song drop out of the rankings? Sorry to be so dim on this but I am a newbie to the numbers (though totally hooked at this point!). Haven't' gotten to the point where I get up at 3 AM though! I'm not sure about recurrency rules, as they change occasionally, but I think if they get below #15 after a certain number of weeks they go recurrent. However, they are removed from the Mediabase list to make room for new songs but the stations continue to play them as they wish. WWFM went recurrent long ago but is actually receiving more airplay than BTIKM. According to Idol Chatter, Adam Lambert, Whataya Want From Me (1406 plays last week). |
