I'm techie deficient and don't know how to link to interviews, but there was an interview with Sean Valentine 4/04/12. The question was about scented candles. Adam explained that he is not into Yankee Candles. He said "I'm a little bougie with my candles. I like them to smell a little bit more sophisticated." Adam used the word "conceptualize" in one of his recent interviews. Of course, I can't find it again. I'll have to spend some time looking for it...maybe Portland, OR. Anyway, I wanted to get it down. Question? What were the influences in Adam's life that gave him his sizable vocabulary? His parents? English classes in school? Studying for SATs (I doubt it)? Reading? song lyrics and musicals? It is probably a combination of things but it is amazing or should I say Adamazing how he can use words accurately. I am sure it is a combination of many things, but I think it starts in the home. Eber is some kind of computer whiz/geek, right? But also a poet. So, I am thinking well-educated, highly intelligent, with a love of words. I don't know anything about Leila's educational background, but she has seemed articulate in interviews. Neil also has that love of words and wants to be a professional writer/commentator. So, I am thinking the home environment was rich in language stimuli with lively discussions. Add to that that Adam is one of seemingly few in his generation who reads and loves it, and the fact that he seems to have a remarkable ear and memory for music and words, and we may have somewhat of an answer. Regardless of where that facility came from, I enjoy hearing it!

My daughter just pointed out that the French word for candle is bougie (feminine). Very clever of Adam! Hah!

I noticed a good majority of Adam's vocabulary in interviews lately seems to be "I'm not cool enough to work with Pharrell!"
