LINA LECARO'S L.A.SLUSH ⚡LINA IN LA⚡ LIVE STREAM VIDEOS FROM LOGOTV AWARDS & ADAM LAMBERT EXCLUSIVE 05 April 2012 laslush.com/2012/04/05/lina-la-moheak-radio-live-logotv-awards/
We deviated from the norm this week at Moheak Radio and took a roadtrip away from the studio to the red carpet at LogoTV’s New Now Next Awards! For the first time in Moheak history, we took viewers right to the guests as we planted ourselves in the thick of the red carpet extravaganza, interviewing pop culture provocateurs and red carpet royalty as they shocked and frocked their way into The Avalon in Hollywood.
Afterward, we got to hang out in the green room with the winners and performers (including Adam Lambert, seen in our pic above) while sipping yummy signature cocktails (the marshmellow concoction was our favorite!) AS WELL AS go back and forth to a great seat inside for the show… right next to the bar! Ha!
Speaking of Mr. Lambert, we also just happened to interview the much-beloved — much obsessed-over! — singing star this week for the LA Weekly’s upcoming People Issue, and while we don’t want to spoil the goodies he gave us — and rest assured, we got stuff we are POSITIVE nobody else has ever got from him — we will say this: his new music is going to surprise a lot of people! He played us three tracks off his cell phone and they are funky with a capital “F.” Dance floors will be pumping this stuff out guaranteed. He may even have to change his nickname from Glambert to Whambert, as the sound is somewhere in between George Michael and Michael Jackson… If you haven’t seen them yet, here are the two pics we tweeted the day of the interview and photo shoot, PLUS a bonus third shot (left) not seen before!
But enough about that for now, the LOGO Awards were a blast both inside and out. As we mention in the embedded videos below, we usually pass on red carpet coverage due to the ravenous nature of photogs and bad vibes we get from celebrity journalists who fight for time with famous peeps. Not our bag. But when Logo’s carpet happened to coincide with our Moheak webshow, we decided to take a chance and film it LIVE. The result is admittedly kinda choppy (the Justin TV app is good, but it cuts in and out alot). Still, we think we got some fun footage, and our girl Kirsti Urpa did a great job holding down the fort in studio…
Check out the clips below for our interviews with Willem Belli, The Lady Bunny (who is obviously jealous of our boogie), Busy Phillips and Sam Pancake and several contestants from the current season of RuPaul’s Drag Race and look for a full slideshow from the carpet, the ceremony AND the after party on LAWeekly.com on Monday! The New Now Next Awards, hosted by kelly Osbourne, air on Monday on the LOGO channel at 10 pm.

THE WHOLE WORLD’S IDOL
He had an international break-through on American Idol and the hit song Whataya Want From Me. Now it’s on to new things for Adam Lambert who will be releasing a new album soon.
How is your new album different from your previous one? - This album is more me, it’s more honest. I have written most of the songs and got to decide much more. That also includes the visual aspects. I produced the photography and worked with a graphic designer to create the visuals. This is my vision, and I have had time to think it over, so I know that I like it.
What inspired you? - I wrote about my life! And how my life is so alike others in many aspects, but also how it is different. Many pop stars want to project this perfect, almost inhuman life, but I don’t consider myself to be perfect – far from it.
Do you often feel insecure? - That is a large part of what the album is about. The first part is a bit more party, while the second part is more serious and dark. And I think everyone balances between the light and the dark side – you want to be a strong and happy person but there are moments where we aren’t just that. And we often try to appear to be strong and happy, even though we are hurt or insecure inside.
Now you are really a part of the music industry. Is it everything you thought it would be? - Yes, it is difficult! There are a lot of politics involved. Sometimes it’s not about the music at all, even though people want that at heart.

"Up and running!" atop.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=vocal&action=display&thread=282. "What note????" atop.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=vocal&action=display&thread=426 When will I ever learn? I cannot judge an Adam Lambert song by a snippet. The final version is extraordinary! I know nothing about radio play, but here is what I think about NCOE.
1. Adam's voice is more than up front. It is IN YOUR FCKN FACE from the very first note. Doesn't sound remotely like Bruno or ANYONE ELSE singing today. No "too long for radio" instrumental introduction. Just ADAM, BAM!
2. This song is, to quote Bruno (tho he was talking about another song) "written in the key of WTF." No, it doesn't have the stratospheric, outer space high notes of some other songs, but the whole thing is pitched in a range where other male pop or rock singers would be pushing and straining like they were constipated. With Adam, no strain, but a very bright, clear, powerful, driving vocal. Those notes on "ey-EYES" are what is called the "tenor high C", C5s. Considered to be the top of a great tenor's range, and a goal they aspire to, but may never master. But, pssst, don't tell Adam that's his top note, or that it is difficult. He's too busy singing his face off.
3. I have written about how Adam always has an arc to his songs. A beginning, middle, and end. He varies the intensity, the vocal style, and the interpretation to make a complete and interesting rendition. He does it again, here. While I can see peeps dancing their asses off to this in a club, it's not one of those songs that will flow from the previous to the next without any discernible difference or change. This one is unique, and uniquely Adam.
4. Adam sings this with his customary long lyrical and vocal lines. Yet, underneath is this percussive drum and bass line. We don't hear that kind of vocal in pop, because no one else can do it! The juxtaposition of the two makes for a very interesting sound. Makes his vocals just soar.
If this doesn't smash on radio, there is no justice in this world or music appreciation in this world.

Working in the studio on a composition In the course of an average day in my life, I do a great many things and yesterday was no exception. I worked in the studio with my own music composition and production. I organized the artists lineup and run of show for the Montreux Jazz Festival on July 13, the night that I'm performing and curating. I also had two conference calls and I did an interview with Rolling Stone magazine. It was regarding the Adam Lambert Song "Shady." I played on this song a few months ago.
The journalist wanted to know what it was like to work with Adam. I explained to him that working with Adam felt comfortable and desperate at the same time. "Desperate?," he asked. "In what way?" I said, "We only had a few hours to work because of both our schedules." I was leaving town the next day as was Adam. Time was our enemy but because we had no choice we booked Avatar studio and just went in to get it done.
Adam was professional and focused but he also allowed me to interpret the song my way. After I played what I wanted, we collaborated on some other ideas. Then, I just jammed along and improvised on The Adam Lambert Song "Shady."

A bonus track from Adam Lambert's début album has just been used for a televised dance competition in Australia. Twenty-seven dancers performed to the song, Down the Rabbit Hole, dressed in the theme of Alice in Wonderland. They performed on the show Young Talent Time, an Australian television variety program screened on Network Ten. The dance was done by a troupe from NSW Project Dance on the semi-finals of the show.
Adam Lambert co-wrote Down the Rabbit Hole with Greg Wells and Evan Bogart. The song is fun and crazy! He told VH1 Unplugged in an interview that Rabbit Hole is like "Burning Man, psychedelic, bizarre imagery." He explained, "Evan and I at some points in the songs lyrically were just like, well what can we say that is so weird? Just to be weird. So there's definitely lines in the song that have no context. It's totally esoteric and out to lunch."
With the great costumes, imagery and choreography, the dance performance was fantastic! Of course, not only are they incredible dancers, but they used a very fun song. What do you think of the routine?

julia (@bertfolieadeux) Posted Monday 16th April 2012 from Twitlonger www.twitlonger.com/show/h05toe PLS RT! @adamlambert ARTICLE IN RUSSIAN QUEER MAG:
ADAM LAMBERT UNMASKED -------------------------------
The artist whose second album Trespassing is coming out in March, is consistently included in the list 50 most influential gays in America.
Q1: Adam! January 29 you turned 30. How does it feel?
A1: A little shocked - 30, it can't be! On the other hand, I am coming to terms with the changes. I am more whole and happy than before.
Q2: How did it influence your new album?
A2: My first CD For Your Entertainment was theatrical, influenced by lives of rock stars. Trespassing is more real, down to earth and from the heart, not from imagination. For example, there are some gay themes included in this album. I think on the new album I'm completely honest.
Q3: Does it have anything to do with your personal life?
A3: Yes, I have a boyfriend now, Sauli Koskinen. He is from Finland, and we live together. In the past, the fate was pushing toward people who needed help or to be pulled out of trouble - or maybe, I myself was attracted to this kind of people. Fortunately, now it's all in the past.
Q4: On your new album you collaborated with Pharrel Williams, the author of hit songs for Britney, Christina and Lady Gaga. How did it happened?
A4: When my record company called and said that I am to fly to Miami to record with Pharrel, my first reaction was, " Oh no, I am not cool enough!". But everything went well. The whole process of creating new songs was easy and happy, with plenty of ideas.
Q5: Should we expect a new sound?
A5: I guess, the most important thing my fans are expecting from me is my voice. Lyrics and music come first, then production - it's a game. As for my vocals, I gave it all I have.
Q6: What are your songs are about this time?
A6: The main topic of the album is a search for oneself, which I understand as a learning things that make you happy and give sense of security. These are very deep personal topics and I hope they will apply to everyone. These songs are about searching, discoveries and errors that come with it. They include the whole range of human feelings from "Great, everything is fine" to "Oh God, how could I stay with this person". I tried not to miss anything.
Q7: Does it mean that in your songs you speak about your own discoveries about yourself? A7: Yes. I guess, after this album everyone will know what kind of person I am. My first album was, as I mentioned, was theatrical and over the top. There were happy songs in which I tried on different masks, paid homage to my idols and teachers. That was exactly how I wanted my first album to be, but this time I spoke about myself.
Q8: When artists speak about themselves, it's very often about love, isn't it?
A8: I agree. It’s a feeling that applies to everyone - everyone is searching for love, everyone hopes to have an encounter that will change their life. Of course, I talk about it on my album. But it's not the only topic - I believe everyone wants to be happy and everyone has moments when they feel lonely, when they ask questions about their purpose of existence on this earth. Everyone.
Q9: You are happy?
A9: Yes. Finally. All my twenties I was unhappy in love. I chased people that were not worth of my love. It was not even love, only some kind of longing. All this time I waited and believed that someday I will meet THE ONE. And it happened!
Q10: Do you remember your feelings when such a huge label RCA offered you a contract?
A10: Yes, of course. It was unreal - all my dreams have come true, I got everything I ever wanted. I was happy, proud and grateful. I think every teenager is fantasizing about being a rock star. I was one of them and have to tell you - it was amazing. To sing, entertain people, make their life happier, make them forget their problems for some time - it's amazing, the best job in the world!
Q11: Looking back - would you change anything on your first album?
A11: No. No. The first album is exactly how I wanted it to be. Everything was happening for the first time and in a great hurry. It was written in glam rock style of Bowie and Boy George, and it was a happy place. But on my new album I have not only retro but many different styles.
Q12: Adam, did you try to analyze why you love glam, makeup and wigs?
A12: Of course. It all started in my youth when I felt insecure about my look, mostly about my skin and weight. It was then that I first wanted to put the mask on. Since then - I liked it!
Q13: When did you come out to your parents?
A13: I was 18 and still a virgin. I was raised in a very nurturing environment. First time I left home and saw the world at 19 when I got a singer job on a cruise ship. I still remember when on one of the Pacific islands I, for the first time, encountered poverty of the Third World - it was an unforgettable nightmare for me, a middle class child, who always had bread for breakfast.
Q14: Do you have any moments in your life that you regret now?
A14: I was 21 when I moved to Hollywood to pursue my musical career. But I wasn't very successful - in 2004 I was hired to be a part of the musical The Ten Commandments, with Bill Kilmer, but the musical failed. I started to drink a lot, smoked tons of pot and did cocaine. I don't want to hide it - it happened. But every time I felt terrible the next day - that's why I didn't get addicted.
Q15: Weren't you afraid to lose some fans when you admitted that you are gay?
A15: I don't think that these kind of close-minded people would love my music anyway. If someone was put off by it, it is their problem, in my opinion. It was always important for me to be open about it. Only after it came out, I started feeling comfortable and more confident. I want to be honest.
Q16: Do you think it has affected your career?
A16: At first I was worried, there was no lack of negativity, sometimes I thought that I went too far. To admit your sexual orientation is not simple in 21st century - how many openly gay people do you know in the music industry? But then I decided that I must follow the decision I made earlier. And since then I didn't have any doubts or regrets.
Q17: What do you think about girls who through their underwear to you on stage?
A17: Where have they been 10 years ago when I needed that self-confidence? To be honest, I find it amusing - there are not many openly gay singers in pop industry.
Q18: You have million followers on Twitter. Have you ever expected anything like that?
A18: It's crazy. I still can't believe that I take my phone and type anything that comes to my head and there are million people reading it. In my opinion, it's even dangerous.
Q19: What song do you listen to the most now?
A19: Someone Like You by Adele. This song gets deep into my soul. It's very emotional and this kind of songs inspire and touch me the most. I like modern music, electric pop and modern rock but they don't often become an ear worm like this simple song.
Q20: There are rumors that you are going to do something with Queen again. Is it true?
A20: Yes, this year actually.
