Not counting the Finale, here are 7 results shows left. This chart has a week missing because there will be Top 8, 7, or 6 twice due to the save. The save has to be used by Top 5. So it is coming within the next few weeks.

The "failed to chart" is in reference to only the Billboard Hot 100. Lauren's and Scotty's singles got a nice i-Tunes bump. Daughtry did not.

[quote author=fooffyschmoofer board=daily thread=807 My issue with NCOE when Adam sings it acoustically is that the song doesn't seem to me to go anywhere, even though he sounds beyond beautiful. Dr Luke's role in production is going to be crucial and that makes me a bit nervous. [/quote] I have a similar problem with the acoustic NCOE. It is very pretty, Adam's voice is gorgeous, but after the first couple of acoustic performances I lost interest in the acoustic version. The weird and curious combination of the beat (that builds, and builds, and builds...and hit hard ) and Adam's long ballad-like phrases and voice is what made me like the snippet. I too am a little nervous about Dr. Luke although I love FYE very much.

I haven't watch it since Adam's season where Matt was saved (Top7) and the following week (2nd Top7) 2 were eliminated (Lil and Anoop) so they were back to Top 5 on schedule after that .... unless they changed it from Seasons 9 & 10?

At this point, I want whatever song has the best chance of getting CHR play. And I am guessing that this is RCA's primary goal right now. And I am trusting that they see the urgency of this. Honestly, I don't know if this era can survive another song that does nothing on pop radio and struggles to sell 100K. Of course I want Trespassing to be released as a single. I love it. I want Chokehold to be released as well. But, right now, I am trusting that RCA knows where Adam and his songs are standing with CHR stations, and they are choosing the next single accordingly. A pattern has emerged with Adam and radio singles. Hopefully RCA has put in the work and gets it right the second time. Me, too (except I'd like HAC play simply because I'd "guess" that's what Adam wants.) Ironically, in the TinyChat video that was just posted a bit ago, the very last question is: "How will you choose the next single? What is the process?"Man, there is no process. It's not a science, there's no one way to do it, I think we're just gonna try to trust our guts.Listen from 6:30 on...he even sounds a teensy bit frustrated by/resigned to the random nature of choosing singles. All I can say is, I'm glad it's not my choice. I know WWFM is his biggest single to date, and I hear and understand all the arguments for NCOE, but MY gut AND ALL the "anecdotal" ~research I've done with the young people around me (10-18-21-25-30 yr-olds) based on the snippets tells me that Trespassing/Cuckoo are the winners, the ones that will shake people up and make them ask "what/who's that?" (like Gotye, etc.) Still, THEY have to trust their guts. I'm sure it's RCA's choice after Adam has his say. I just hope he fights for whatever his gut/heart is telling him. Then I guess we'll see who's right (assuming there's even a difference of opinion--WHICH WE WILL NEVER KNOW.) Again, glad it's NOT my choice--BUT I am soooo ready for the choice to get made already! And Bullsfan, even if it turns out that it's NOT the "right" choice, I really DO think this era will survive nicely. He'll have a second sold-out tour. He'll blow us all away. And his day WILL come.

When we finally reach a consensus here at Atop let me know so I can inform Adam of our decision. I'm sure he's dying to know what his next single should be. ETA-- 6 Flags!!! Sounds cool!

This is exactly why I am not agonizing over this. All 4 songs are good, in my opinion. And Adam's going to do more than survive. He is on track. He is flourishing. He is ALREADY more successful than he ever thought he'd be. It's a GREAT time for Adam and his world is only growing bigger!!!

Why do so many of you think NCOE will do so much better than BTIKM. I love BTIKM as much as I do NCOE and it didn't do well. Is it because NCOE is more uptempo? Is that the only reason? Or is it also because you like the song more? The reason I ask this is because I am having trouble being positive about NCOE for some reason but not sure why. I think it's because I enjoy listening to TP and Cuckoo more so than NCOE. I can easily picture a great performance with TP, especially, if he were to do it like he did in the UK performance where he was dancing to it. I can only picture NCOE being sung sitting down like with BTIKM and I am so ready for dancing Adam on idol and elsewhere on stage. Just my two cents for what they're worth. ;D
