He has to be announcing the new single today, right? We know he will be singing it on NNN (which will totally get it out there) so his team would want to put out a formal announcement first I would think. After listening to the acoustic NCOE from MyFM, I am now firmly on board. It should be the next single. If it hits (and all indications are that it will) then it will pave the way for something more adventurous like Trespassing. But, NCOE is a great radio-friendly CHR song. And the Bruno connection won't hurt. This performance is what wrapped it up for me, as well. It really is like NCOE was written for Adam's voice. The song sits right in the sweet spot of Adam's vocal range. Like WWFM, NCOE highlights the parts of Adam's voice that sound the best on the radio. All four of the songs are great and sooo much better for radio than BTIKM. It looks like it was down to Cuckoo and NCOE for the single. Either one is a good choice, but Cuckoo isn't an automatic HAC/CHR song. It would be like IIHY and hit CHR first and have to crossover to HAC. Adam has built up some strong support over the last three months at HAC. I believe that could work to his advantage if they pick a single that works automatically on both formats. Just to clarify... what indications have we had about this "hitting" any more than any other song? Not to get argumentative, but I don't think this is an accurate statement. |

Hitting? Do you mean the statement that said that Cuckoo would be more like IIHY? If so, it is a strong CHR song. It will be a song that has to cross over to HAC. That's not necessarily bad. It's just that NCOE is one of those Bruno songs like Grenade, that could easily appeal to HAC and CHR at the same time. I thought this was a positive, since Adam already has so much goodwill built up at the top HAC stations and more than half on the smaller markets. Songs that appeal to multiple formats on the front end, do better on iTunes, which keeps the cycle going with adds and spins which equals to more sales... |

I don't know if Tommy is a great guitarist or not, but when I see pictures of Adam's band mates cuddling Riff what I do know is, that it is very important for Adam to have people in his band who he connects with and trusts. This is probably not as important to most artists but Adam brings them into his family. As long as Tommy keeps up with Adam on stage, he has my vote.
ETA And see how close the adults are standing. They all get along!

After watching and listening over and over and over to those incredible Myfm vids...
I am now firmly on #TeamNeverCloseOurEyes
It's a gorgeous, well-written song. Perfect for Adam's voice. Upbeat tempo but sung like a ballad... giving plenty of opportunity for Adam's vocals to soar.
It's a song that gets better with repeated listenings and is so easy to sing along with... and has a universal sentiment that everyone can relate to-- no matter your age or gender..
I just love it.
I love Trespassing, too..it's fun! It's catchy! But NCOE has imbedded itself into my brain and my heart.
