Omg those new videos!!! GAH!! Trespassing just gets better and better and betterer!! - I'm positive it will be released at some point, and it's gonna smash! (Please, oh please perform it on NNN Adam *begs*) sidenote: I adore watching Isaac. Someone said he was staring at Adam like a Border Collie throughout the performance. (That cracked me up, cuz it's true). He just looks so damn enthusiastic and engaged. HAPPY BIRTHDAY XSPACEX and LMARTS!!WELCOME OOFTA!!I devoured Trespassing and NCOE, skipped WWFM and BTIKM ( :-/ ) I was blown away!!! Loved, LOVED the audio/visual perfection of Adam. Why was Isaac there? They sounded soooo much better! Is it because this radio station is in LA? Btw, Isaac was creepy/sweet, which is extremely hard to pull off :D. He reminded me of Gollum. Echoing the birthday wishes and welcome hugs!!! Take my advice and listen to the MYFM performance of BTIKM. I nearly didn't but then figured - ok I'll do one more. I'm so glad I did! It is BEAUTIFUL! One of the best of this song ever.

Should I ask what CHR / HAC is or not? Hmmm... NOPE I think 'ignorance is bliss' in this case.

nica I agree with every word here - My feelings are similar. (On a related note, I always wonder why people think old people like to hear bland music. They invented jazz and rock and roll.) I listened to the new videos of NCOE and Trespassing. I believe Trespassing WILL become Adam's signature song regardless of whether it is ever a single. I can just imagine this song in concert with the house lights turned up and everyone stomping and singing along. For NCOE .... Adam's raspy vocals really elevate the song from what it would be sung in Bruno's totally bland voice. The trouble is ... from what we heard on the snippet, Adam's voice sounded processed, smoothed out and dumbed down. Not raw, wild, and amazing. The lyrics are not memorable. It sure doesn't sound like a dance tune to me. Maybe the new arrangement will be amazing. I sure hope so. To me it just feels like RCA is trying to cast Adam as something he's not. I'm willing to be convinced and won over by NCOE but that day has not yet arrived. I have to think Adam will prevail in the end ... hoping for a spaceship video featuring Adam piloting into the Death Star. Either that, or falling in love with a Finnish opthamologist who cured that pesky dry eye syndrome of which he so eloquently sings ...

I disagree that WWFM didn't gain Adam young audience. Remember it was #1 on German youth radio play chart or whatever it is called... Also, for many months, I have been reading the comments under the WWFM vevo video, the majority of which were written by young fans, you can tell.

I think one reason Adam gets so much more questions about his audience and their age or gender is that Adam's target market is not really understood yet. Adam is a pioneer, his ultimate target market is unclear. Compare it let's say to Scotty (I know, I know, but bear with me for a moment). He also comes off idol like Adam, is only 17 years old, but everything is lined up. Everybody understands the market he is in within 5 seconds. There are radio programs, award shows, boiler-plate marketing programs ready to go for him before he ever gets off the darn show. So, nobody has any questions. Nobody asks about the age of his fan base, which is also mixed (as typical for country music), because his market does not create any questions. Adam's audience is leaning female and that is about all you can say right now. Not extremely helpful. Everybody hopes that his new album will widen his audience and fan base, but nobody knows yet, what audience it will find. That is why they are grasping for anything they can find. Age is an obvious characteristic to latch onto. People were expecting the gay community to be a target audience and are surprised that so much of his fan base is straight. Some were expecting that Adam would target the classic rock audience, but obviously Adam made pop music, not rock. But he is not exactly doing what others are doing in the pop market either, probably can't, given his profile. So, it leaves those that are trying to figure this out with more questions than answers. I think that ultimately this will be only answered with time and the answer will probably be that Adam defines and creates his own unique market. If the new album can pull in a younger audience in the US, similar to what has already happened oversees, then this will be a good step towards those silly questions at least becoming less misleading, because I don't think that Adam's audience has this age slant based on his music, it is imo a result of AI....younger audience ain't happening if he keeps coming out with the WWFM-BTIKM-NCOE type singles... ...all I get from the kids "around" me (i.e my kids and their friends - all college crowd) is - "another boring song"... I am truly sick of that, I need TP on, so they can shut up with the "boring" stuff... ... it has to be electronic, crazy beat, can't-help-but-dance type song... and don't tell me about 135 rate on NCOE, cause it does not come across that way. ...sorry for beating this very, very dead horse... :-[ actually, even my mid-80s mom prefers TP to NCOE... go figure... Does Gotye 's song have an electronic, crazy beat, can't help but dance beat? No Does Fun. 's song have that? No. Does Adele's song have that crazy beat? No. Right now many of the hit songs are so different than the usual "hit " sound. IMO If it was that easy to find out which song would make a hit... If it was THAT easy. It's not. No one knows. And NCOE does have a crazy beat, the minute he starts singing "forget about the sunrise" the beats hit hard and builds and builds until it hits more hard. We heard so many acoustic versions of the song and probably this is the problem right now. Let's wait to see how it sounds tomorrow. Whether you like it or not, it's another story.
