Trespassing!!!! Hey, I was just glad to hear Adam sing in a normal voice for once. I had a random thought about tonight's discussion. I look forward to the day when we can discuss Adam's music, likes, dislikes, the reasons, without the pressure of the radio thing. I actually think there are two discussions muddied up together here. It will be more fun when they can be separated. I totally agree with this, juniemoon. As I was skimming todays thread I kept coming back to the thought that the "what's my favorite single" folks were getting mixed up with the "what single will do best on radio" folks, when those are really two separate discussions. Part of me suspects that we are really all much more in agreement than it feels like we are. I, for example, love Trespassing the bestest, but def don't think it would be the most obviously successful radio single. I readily believe NCOE might be that. Cuckoo is my happy medium. But really I like them all. My problem is that I can't bring myself to care as much about out and out radio success as I do about having the song that Adam is most identified by being a song I totally adore and that feels like him. But I know that might make me a kinda careless or disloyal fan, and that a radio smash would be a great thing for Adam. I'm just really ready for a single that screams AAAAADDDAAAAAMMMM to me, even if that single isn't a roaring success. But truth be told, as I said, I really do like all four songs, for different reasons, so I'm a happy camper.

The 'what is best for radio' discussion is very different from the 'what song appeals to me most/least and why' discussion and when they get conflated it gets quagmire-y for me at least.

I was raised in the heart of Cajun country which New Orleans ain't. Actually lived in New Iberia for six and a half years. There is nothing remotely cajun in his voice in Trespassing, I'd give you maybe 9th ward but definitely no Cajun. ETA: New Orleans accent is NOT Cajun, very different as is North Louisiana accent. Cajun is more tied to your heritage than your location. Yes, New Orleans accent sounds like the Boston accent. North Louisiana sounds southern hick like MS, AL, and TN. Cajun country has it's own accent too. I'm originally from Texas and have a Texas drawl accent myself so all these new accents were very strange to me and hard to get use to. Awww...come on....just because some of us are from MS, AL, and TN (the South) we're not all hicks (is that a bad thing?)...we're good people...and we're passionate, loving, and hospitable (is that a word?). And...ya'll is universal now...we invented that word. LOL

Nah you are a great fan we're all great fans ;D and the thing you care about most is I think the dearest wish of a lot of us I'd suspect, and ultimately the best possible outcome IMO. I think it's more like a gentlewoman's disagreement about the route to get there? Some think it will take two or more steps, some say we can do it in one? Maybe that's it?

(he has a big, close italian family:) I unfriended her on FB lol because she kept throwing bible verses at me, talks to me about Satan, gays and abortion. All topics that I refused to discuss with her. I'm glad u are representing the south for Me now.

Can't wait to hear Trespassing! So he will do both NCOE and Trespassing tomorrow night meaning we STILL won't know what the next single is, lol. How do we know he's doing NCOE tomorrow night? What did I miss? ETA: MWP, I see you and I just asked the same question! Anybody got the answer?
