Just as we've learned so much from AFL's example, there's a lot we can learn from each other with much patience and a sincere effort to really listen.
The grief over the NC Amendment vote that passed this week has had an immediate impact that was surprising and noticeable to a lot of us - people on both sides of the issue are talking openly about the subject and trying harder to understand each other and generally in very respectful tones. Very unexpected and bodes well for A Change is Gonna Come.
It starts with each of us.

Ashley is hot, and why are they all wearing leggings? Are they dance rehearsing or something? Because leggings are the most comfortable things in the world, besides pajamas!

www.wetpaint.com/network/articles/last-minute-loss-8-memorable-reality-show-upsetsLast Minute Loss: 8 Memorable Reality Show Upsetsabout 1 hour ago by Rebecca Martin Reality TV competitions can follow a lot of different paths. Sometimes the finale is a nail biter, coming down to two or more contestants who are all equally capable of taking home the prize. Sometimes, you have a clear frontrunner who rides their success all the way to the top (*yawn*). And then sometimes you have weird upsets, like Jermaine Paul’s recent win on The Voice, which was a surprise we're still not sure we like. (We wanted ...Juliet Simms, and we stick by that.) In that spirit, here are eight memorable reality TV upsets that we still haven't really recovered from. 1. Adam Lambert Loses to Kris Allen on American Idol: Remember when Adam Lambert lost American Idol Season 8 to Kris Allen and it was completely ridiculous? Sorry, Kris. You're cute, but Adam is still the winner in our hearts. ...

Here's a good way to judge it. When you are reading an article, take a moment to google the publication and find out their audience. If it is a gay publication or one with a large gay readership then please do not tell them to not talk about him being gay. Also sometimes just scrolling up will tell fans all they need to know, read the byline of the site, click on the 'about' navigation link, look at the pictures, lol. Good to see you again fightthesleep

I would respectfully ask amw and fightthesleep if it is sometimes enough to love someone who is gay? It is always awesome to have straight people whomlove gay people in their lives who support the human rights of the LGBT community. I have known straight LGBT advocates who do incredible work to support our rights. The whole on line thing is tricky. We can't see each other's faces or read body language, so words must be written with great care. I think you are quite capable of that! :D And to everyone who commented on my original post in such a sweet way, thanks.

He currently has 2,031 followers. Joey Brooks @joeybrooks If I get to 3,000 followers in the next week I'm going to play @adamlambert "Never Close Our Eyes " on the radio. Joey Brooks @joeybrooks Joey Brooks. Afternoon host @1045chumfm Toronto. Host of the Weekend Blowout. Video/baby maker. Co-ed hockey star. Expert hugger. ÜT: 43.650281,-79.38761 · www.youtube.com/thebrooksieshowI HATE this kind of tweet from radio stations.. why should they put a "condition" to play Adam's music. It's like they're emailing each other to do this. If she wants to play Adam's music, just play it because people want to listen and because the music is GOOD. >:( >:( >:( >:(

It does matter to me that Adam is gay and attracts attention because of his bold sexuality, his intensity and insistence on living his life out and proud. Homosexuals need positive freaks in the media. Many homosexuals are so forced into small boxes of fear of repercussion for being gay that Adam challenges that intensely for them. It is scary to really get that who you love could possibly get you fired or beaten up at a bar. Gays everywhere learn how to tone it down to survive. Adam refuses to tone anything down. He models something that is starting a crucial conversation in the gay community. He insists that we be who we are, honestly and completely, and refuses to tone down the realness. From some this is very threatening. When straight people engage in this conversation like they think they know what it is like to be gay, I would beg you tread softly. What attracted me to Adam, and still does , is just how much his alternative behavior is familiar to me. I love that so much! I know he uses the term post-gay, but that is a desire, a passionate hope for the future and sometimes, in places like Burning Man, that liberal attitude really really happens. But mostly, gays and lesbians have to fight for the right to hold hands in public if they have high profile jobs. Gay publications will speak of him in many different ways, and it is important to recognize that we do not have the same rights as straight people. I have lived both ways. I really do know this. Straight people do not know what this is like, to feel discrimination in this pervasive, strange way. Anyways, Adam represents out and proud in every way that I could strive to be. Whenever possible I embrace my lesbian self in public and Adam has made me braver and more comfortable to do so just by being himself.

But clearly there is resistance from the PD. I stream chum all the time and they definitely were the biggest supporters of BTIKM, so I am puzzled because there are many Canadian stations already spinning NCOE without any undue prompting. It feels like Adam can't win. The stations picked NCOE and yet there is still resistance. Hope Joey convinces his PD; I know if Bruno put out this single, every station would have jumped on it already. Reading his feed it looks like it's just a simple case of his program director (a woman) not liking the song NCOE as much as BTIKM which the station obviously liked a lot. Hey it happens, personal preference and all. In this case any support we can give him in helping her reconsider by showing fan numbers would be great IMHO. He appears to be a straight shooter (not like Toby) and the stations he works at are very important for Adam's airplay. Definitely worth a follow IMO

Joey is a DJ on the #1 HOT AC in Canada & a Part-Time DJ on the Top 40 station Kiss 108 in Boston where Adam is doing a radio concert. Joey is a big supporter of Adam and a nice guy. He played BTIKM more than any other DJ on Chum. I know I just said I hate the kind of tweet from radio stations... but since you're asking lolly .. I will do it done (phew.. he has 800 followers to go)
