heathcliff took me down this rabbit hole Here is another review from a male teenager, he says the music sounds like Adam took MJ, Queen, and LMAFO and threw them all in a blender! www.youtube.com/watch?v=0peJVizgfKA&feature=relatedhere's another one, this young man looks like he's about 14. He does a song by song review, kid doesn't know what cuckoo means? NCOE is his favorite song, and he also loves Naked Love and Pop that Lock. Likes the dark side of BE, Underneath lyrics are amazing, didn't like Chokehold, didn't know what the song was about. Loves OOL, not that into the bonus songs. This kid keeps up with Adam, and has listened to his interviews. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjLheLqltEI&feature=related

iTunes update: Adam is still #2 behind AI Artists Season 11 John Mayer is third. There seems to be some discrepancy in the charts used, as the Tennacious D was reported as being in contention. I am looking at iTunes Charts, under Albums.
You're looking at "http://www.apple.com/itunes/charts/albums/, which I don't think it's updated hourly (and strangely missing Tenacious D). If you go to the actual iTunes store, Adam is at # 3 behind Mayer, and Tenacious D is at # 4. Also, "NECO" is at # 94 right now, not # 80 (according to the aforementioned link).

We had so much fun at the Kiss 108 concert! Our seats were great, a few rows from the stage. Sound quality differed for each artist, some were fantastic, others not so good. Adam looked beautiful and joyful, and o so sexy. I did not perceive any anger or annoyance from him. Yes the sound was borderline awful at times. I did not even recognize Shady when he started to sing it. But Trespassing sounded great. Wish he did not have to torture us with WWFM, but I get it. Naked Love (i always enjoy his spin on the meaning of the song), Cuckoo and NCOE were fun. I walked to the top of our section during NCOE and it did sound better. I do think the band needs to work on the sound. It is not just the "sound guy" IMO. The keys overwhelmed at times, the vajajays noticeably off. Adam's voice was not always the focus, but he made up for it in his stage presence. And dare I say, I don't think the guitarist and bass player are in the same league as some of the others I saw. Maybe it was selective viewing, but I saw a lot of glamberts and Adam fans. The ladies in yellow and black, the young girls in AL tshirts. The crowd was fairly responsive and excited- considering the vast majority of attendees were middle/high school aged girls who listen to top 40 on Kiss. Definitely not the high energy reaction The Wanted, Enrique, and FloRida got. These guys all had amazing supporting musicians. And the last two had some gimmicks, Enrique confetti and lights, FloRida flowers, lights and he went out in the crowd. My shirt still smells sort of delicious where he rubbed his sweaty shirtless body on it. (Oh adam, why could not it have been you?) I loved Boston and the entire vibe. It was liberating to be part of that crowd.

Mahalia, I had seen the two teen reviews you cited. Adam can never get too much teen love at this point. But what i liked about the review I posted is that the young man really connected to Adam, he "got it", he understood that Adam was a "rebel".

What is great to see is how all three reviews are made by young men who clearly think that being a fan of Adam's music is absolutely 'cool' and alright. Bottom-line taken away from the radio concerts of the last few days, from online-videos, from concert audiences and other events: Young folks, middle-aged folks and old folks from all walks of life like Adam's music. Yesterday Clay Aiken was quoted talking about Adam as a 'Niche artist'. Grrrrrr....... I mean, I don't really think that it is all that important what Clay has to say - even during Celebrity Apprentice, I don't think he is very relevant. But I do think that one of the big hurdles for Adam is that quite a few people in the music business and beyond actually think exactly like him (PDs, marketing people, certain media, etc). What Clay said here is unfortunately what many have as a stereotype in their head and therefore I think it does deserve discussion. I think a good start would be to go beyond reviews and look at a few other fans of Adam and add those to the list. For example, this one: and perhaps or perhaps To all who are still wondering who possibly could be interested in Adam Lambert's art, I hope these videos have been helpful in narrowing down this niche of the American market that Clay Aiken is talking about. : Obviously, this list could be widened with many other people from all walks of life. Adam is to some degree fighting a market perception rather than a market reality. Adam's fans are not 80,000 people in one homogeneous segment of the market, Adam still has a small market penetration, but it is in a very diverse market, very much in contrast to the fore-mentioned assumption. For an artist at the start of his career this is a much better starting position than many might think. Just thought I'd throw this out there in continuation of yesterday's debate; hope you don't mind.
