My relationship has brought balance into my life
Finland's son-in-law Adam Lambert, who has just come out with his second album, is happy now. He no longer feels like an outsider.
Global star Adam Lambert, 30, is living in exciting times. He executive produced his album, Trespassing, which came out in May in the US, and he has also been involved in writing the lyrics and the music on most of the songs on the album.
- It's a statement of who I am as a person, a performer and a musician. The title track, Trespassing, is about breaking down walls and marching forward as a rebel. It describes life as an outsider.
Lambert admits he often felt like an outsider when he was younger.
- There were moments in my past where I was lonely. My dating history isn't very successful, because I kept pursuing the wrong kind of people.
His relationship with the Finnish Sauli Koskinen changed everything. The couple met in Helsinki in the fall of 2010 when Lambert had a show in Helsinki.
- A long-term relationship brought balance into my life. I'm happy now, he tells IS.
- I don't have previous experience in long relationships, so I didn't know what was missing from my life. When I was single, I got to do my own thing, but now I'm in a position where I also have something to offer to another person. I'm one half of a couple, and it's a beautiful thing.
Making his new album wasn't difficult, in spite of its personal nature.
- It was almost the opposite. My first album was more difficult to make than my second one. For Your Entertainment was written in two months, but I had a year and a half to write Trespassing. Trespassing is a more polished, creative and cohesive whole.
The songs on the album are divided into two chapters.
- The first part of the album has a dance vibe and lots of energy. It reflects the way I look on the outside: strong and proud. The second half is darker and more emotional.
After the album came out, Lambert has had no time for anything except promoting his new album. His summer plans include two tours.
- The near future is going to be work, work and more work. I can't remember ever having been this busy. For a musician, this is an advantage, because I can just take a vacation sometime over the winter.
He is also planning a trip to Finland.
- I want to come to Finland again, but I don't plan to end up in jail. Not that I planned it the first time. It just happened, and in a way it's part of the rockstar life – but I learned from it.

In addition to his promo tour, Adam Lambert is touring with the band Queen as their lead singer on a five-show European tour.
- I'm not going to be imitating Freddie Mercury with Queen, I'm going to give the songs my own twist. Rehearsals with the band start next week, and that's when we're going to talk about what direction we want to take with this collaboration.
The initiative for the show collaboration came from the band itself. Brian May and Roger Taylor saw Lambert's performance of Bohemian Rhapsody on American Idol, and it made an immediate impact.
- Everything was partly just chance. I have a lot to thank American Idol for, because it jump-started my career. Without the show, I probably wouldn't have achieved this much this fast. At that stage in my career, it was a priceless advantage.

Legendary singer Elton John and a British rock band Queen will hold a charitable anti-AIDS concert on the Independence Square before the Euro 2012 European Football Championship final.
"Elton John and rock band Queen will play to support the fight against AIDS, here, on Independence Square," Head of the ANTIAIDS Foundation Olena Pinchuk said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
The ANTIAIDS Foundation, with the assistance of UEFA, will organize the concert. The concert will be entitled "Your Life is Not a Game. Let's Stop AIDS Together!" It will begin on June 30 at 2000 and will last until midnight.
According to Pinchuk, Elton John and Queen refused payment for the performance.
The concert will take place on the stage in the fan zone on the Independence Square.
"We will not build anything special," she said.
The concert will consist of two parts, admission will be free of charge, and in addition, the concert will be broadcast live.
Pinchuk assumed that Elton John and Queen could attend the final match of Euro 2012 and said that she did not know whether they would attend the closing ceremony of the championship.
During the concert, the foundation will raise funds for a new joint project of Elton John's and Olena Pinchuk's anti-AIDS foundations.

A host of chart-topping acts took to the Royal Albert Hall stage on 7 June 2012 to perform at the Rays of Sunshine Concert.
Performances on the night came from a number of X-Factor stars including previous winners Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, singing at the Hall for the 2nd time in a week, and a return here for 2008 runners-up JLS.
JLS made a dream come true on the night itself, inviting young Sophie Washington, a patient currently awaiting pancreas treatment, up on stage to perform with her idols. She later tweeted:
“Had the most AMAZING night!! Love you @jlsofficial!!! Such a brilliant time singing with you guys! Thanks so much! And @raysofsunshine :D xx”
Other performances came from singer Pixie Lott, The Voice UK star Jaz Ellington, R&B girl-group Stooshe, Brighton-based singer Conor Maynard, as well as a Royal Albert Hall debut for American singer-songwriter Adam Lambert. 2010 Britain’s Got Talent winners Spelbound also gave a dance performance.
A sold-out auditorium, including a number of the dedicated ‘Glamberts‘, witnessed outstanding performances from leading pop acts, however the night of course belonged to the Rays of Sunshine charity and the children who have had their wishes granted.

The Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity grants wishes for seriously ill children in the UK aged between 3 and 18 years old.
The charity granted its first wish in 2004 and has since granted over 2,000 wishes as well as entertaining thousands of other young people through hospital activities and events.

Adam was magnificent tonight...worth every penny spent for just 15mins. He sounded fantastic and the crowd were great even if the majority had never heard of him
Not sure if you could hear on the stream but he said "I know most of you don't know who I am but I hope you soon will" 
He may not have had the teen screams but there was spontaneous applause everytime he hit the notes hard !!
NCOE was unbelievable.........
Barely noticed the band (except the fierce bass player 8-)) or the backup singers (only heard them once when Adam stopped singing)
ETA LOL Gill...I don't think they missed our presence in the 2nd half ;D

Adam Lambert performed on stage last night (June 7, 2012) at the Rays of Sunshine Concert at Royal Albert Hall in London, England. The Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity grants wishes for seriously ill children in the UK aged 3-18.
Also performing at the show were Leona Lewis, JLS, Pixie Lott, Conor Maynard and Alexandra Burke.
It was just announced that Adam will be performing with Queen, along with Elton John, who are set to play the Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation show in Kiev the night before the Euro 2012 Final.
The June 30 show at Independence Square is a charity event dedicated to the fight against HIV/AIDS and is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of people to the main square in Kiev along with being watched by millions in the Ukraine and Poland.

Adam Lambert praised Alexandra Burke after sharing the stage with her last night (June 7) at London's Royal Albert Hall.
The vocal star played the iconic venue as part of Rays of Sunshine's charity event, with the likes of JLS also appearing on the bill.
Lambert tweeted his support to fellow performer Alexandra Burke on the night, saying:
"SING Girl! Listening to you kill it!! Great to meet you!!"
Burke replied soon after, responding: "Thank u so much Suga! So lovely to meet u!!! Xx"
Lambert meanwhile revealed his excitment today (June 8) ahead of his scheduled performance at London's G-A-Y club on Saturday (June 9), typing: "So excited for the late night G-A-Y club performance on Saturday here in London. You're gonna feel it Kickin In boys!"

Sounding powerful and as clear voiced as ever Adam Lambert performed yesterday night at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London.
Adam was performing at the ‘Rays of Sunshine’ concert for children.
The charity ‘Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity’ was formed in 2004 to help children who are living with serious or life-limiting illnesses between the ages of 3-18, across the United Kingdom.
Many of the children suffer from terminal illnesses so I hope they all had an amazing time last night.
Adam spoke briefly to the crowd during his set saying ‘I know lots of you won’t have heard of me, but I hope you will soon!’
He seems to be enjoying his stay in London, tweeting from black cabs along his journeys. It is thought he will be practising with Queen as part of his stay ahead of their Summer gigs.

Singers Leona Lewis and Adam Lambert performed in London on Thursday for a children's charity fundraiser concert.
Pop acts Pixie Lott, Conor Maynard and Alexandra Burke also sang at the Royal Albert Hall gig in support of Rays of Sunshine, an organisation that helps grant wishes for seriously and terminally ill kids.
Boyband JLS made one fan's dream come true during their set - they invited Sophie Washington, who is awaiting a pancreas transplant, onstage to sing with them.
After the show, the teen tweeted, "Had the most amazing night!! Love you JLS!!! Such a brilliant time singing with you guys! Thanks so much! It was just incredible, I still can't believe it! Absolutely amazing."
JLS singer Marvin Humes replied, "What an amazing night... emotional yet inspiring! Sophie was an honour to perform with you tonight Hun! Rays of Sunshine makes wishes come true! We loved it!"
Re: the banter. He cracks me up, because this is the "dork" Adam peeking out. Who wants their idol to be perfect in every possible detail? I, for one, think it makes Adam more human and appealing that this incredible, charismatic, compelling, fierce artist doesn't quite know what to say from the stage.
I have my own theory about why this is, considering how articulate Adam usually is. It has to do with the zone Adam gets into while performing. Everything is totally focused on the performance: the sound, the blend, the vocals, the emotions, the energy flow, the movements, the coverage of the entire stage, the projection of the performance to the back of the balcony and to the fans in the front row simultaneously. And, because Adam is a control freak (with a smile) and the executive producer, the constant demand of being fully engrossed in performing while, at the same time, standing back and monitoring the performance like a director.
His mind is multi-tasking at 200 mph, and then, song over, he has to slam on the brakes, come to a complete and sudden halt, shift his whole mind set, and interact intimately and personally with an audience of thousands with chit chat. That is an incredibly difficult shift to make. We praise Adam for his ability to code switch, but, I would say he has yet to master this particular switch on stage.
Given his many years in traditional music theater, I do not find this surprising. In that genre, one warms up and gets into character, and then stays in character throughout the performance. Many stage, movie, and TV actors find it hard, during breaks, or even at the end of the day, to disconnect with the character they have immersed themselves into, and morph back into their own personality.
I'm gonna give Adam a pass on this one. If he successfully performs this shift back and forth during a show, props to him. If he doesn't, I appreciate his concentration on the performance of the music.

And X Factor singer Alexandra Burke sent the love right back at him tweeting: "Thank u so much Suga! So lovely to meet u!!! Xx"
Both are now following each other on Twitter. Obvs.
