God I hope Adam has some time to 'regroup' before Saturday. So much time change :( His jet lag is going to be horrible! He'll be delirious. Hoping that begining of August him and Sauli run away to an island for a week At least it's good to know that when he works, he werks! And when he's off he relaxes.

I can tell you living in the south and the bible belt, there are some strong attitudes towards gays. The other day, a man who sets up sound systems, home theaters etc was present in my home to do some work. He had been in our home before, and felt he could speak. He explained how religious he was, and that his wife homeschooled their children, as he didn't want his children influenced by the world. He then began expounding on gays, and gay marriage. You can guess where that was going. Right in the midde of the job, I told him to leave my home, and that he better not bill me for work performed. He was dumbfounded. I told him, you spew hate in my home, you pay the consequences. I told him for future business practice do not combine business with religion. I also told him, he was doing his children a disservice, not exposing them to the world, because all he was creating was an atmosphere of hate. What I found interesting, that this was not solicitated, but people feel the need to let their feelings be known, and they're not shy. He never apologized.....the bastard. GO SMOKEYVERA !! What's amazing is that he assumed you would agree with him ! I am so glad you did this smokey! Time was I would have been too scared to do the same, but now I would ... thanks to Adam and to examples like the one you set. The other day I was so proud of my sister (who is also a big glambert). She works in a college admissions office, and they were working on changes to the part of the admission form where students fill in the information about their parents -- mother, father, stepmother/father, legal guardian. She jumped in to say that they needed to make it possible to fill out the form to account for the children of same-sex couples, and got that put on the agenda. She has also worked to make "gender" an optional field when a student applies to school, to account for transgendered students. We can all do our little part.

Good for you, Smokey -
I posted a short article the other day on the Moon Garden Lounge sub-topic about attending the Gay Pride Parade in San Francisco with my granddaughter and her friend. Anyone interested can go over to that article in the Moon Garden, but the one thing I wanted to bring over here was watching a small contingent of young clean-cut Mormons in the parade carrying signs saying "We support Gay Marriage" and "We Support LGBT Rights". The times they are a-changing - go kids!

NewNowNext @newnownext Well spoken and smart @adamlambert is all grown up and talking about being a gay role model #Watch! www.newnownext.com/adam-lambert-on-being-a-gay-role-model-video/06/2012/Adam Lambert On Being A Gay Role Model: Video In a new interview with Billboard, Adam Lambert talks about initially feeling ambivalent about being America’s gay role model, with his characteristic confident honesty (“I didn’t audition for American Idol because I was gay, I wanted a record deal”), and why he finally just embraced it. Lambert also praises TV and movies for including more gay characters, but criticizes them for being “very safe.” Video, above.

Every time I log onto the AOL homepage today, there's a big beautiful picture of Adam under the heading Free Music Tuesdays that links to the AOL Sessions.
