Yeah, that's pretty lame. It's amazing how many of these reviewers decide that Adam should be doing rock and must be a label's puppet doing pop. I can sort of understand where they are coming from. Adam is GENIUS when singing rock (or pop, or anything really), but for fans of rock like these reviewers, pop is second rate junk, fast food, unworthy of the attention of a good singer. And looking at the singing "talents" of LFMAO, TBEP and the likes, they might have a point, at least when it comes to pop today. There is also certainly the impression that anyone doing pop music voluntarily must be a sell-out, doing it for the money and fame. They simply cannot imagine that a talent like Adam could actually LOVE pop must or funk and WANT to make that kind of art. So they blame the producers or the label or whomever. The rest of the content regarding Queen's choice was so sweet that I can live with that particular article And as a rock fan, I personally hope I will live long enough to buy a rock-inspired album by AFL some day in the future 8-) IMO, rock vocalists aren't superior to vocalists in other genres of music. Instead of thinking of Pop artists such as LMFAO, think of some that have good vocals like Adele, Jessie J, or Pink, and some of the oldies like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, George Michael, or Mariah Carey. Pop music has great vocalist in the present and in the past, just like Rock Music. Rock music has its share of "jokes" like LMFAO in Pop, as well. Rock vocalists aren't any more talented than Pop or Funk vocalists, it just depends on what type of voice or genre of music certain people prefer over other types of voices or other genres of music.

But then that's implying that all rock bands lately are super talented and have amazing singers. That isn't the case at all. I'm generally a big fan of it but these days it's a slew of people seeing who can make the nastiest noises or rip-off classic rock bands the most. Personally I think Adam should stick to the genre ambiguity he has going on and keep on bringing that rock edge and sensibility to different genres he's experimenting in. The rock/pop hybrids like Trespassing and SFW are just so cool, I want to hear him breaking more ground like that :D (stolen from seoulmate) ;D
