On 7 July, Wroclaw's Municipal Stadium will host the first edition of Rock In Wroclaw Festival, featuring one of the most awarded and recognizable rock bands in history - Queen! Both the city and the new, fantastic stadium, have been waiting for such a show for years! The festival, during which everybody will sing "We Are The Champions" and "We Will Rock You" together, is bound to attract several generations of fans admiring the unquestioned monarchs of rock. It has just been announced that the two London concerts of the legendary band Queen with Adam Lambert - a man successfully tackling the group's superb repertoire - sold out within two days. The concert to take place in Moscow on 3 July is also expected to be a huge event.
Rock In Wroclaw Festival is the city's first genuine rock festival. Intended to become a regular feature, the event presents both the icons of the genre and its currently most popular bands from Poland and abroad. The first edition will take place on 7 July at the Municipal Stadium in Wrocław, with one of the world's most famous rock bands - Queen - in its line-up. The event will also feature the immensely popular Polish group IRA, celebrating its 25th anniversary, as well as a special foreign guest. The venue of the festival is Wrocław's new Municipal Stadium, an ELITE-class arena guaranteeing an international-level spectacle and unparalleled emotions.

When Adam Lambert takes his place with the remaining Queen members in London next week and starts to sing the songs that Freddie Mercury made so famous, is there going to be a ghost on the stage?
"Maybe a little bit," admits Lambert. "But you'd have to ask them. I wouldn’t presume to make that call."
Lambert is obviously ecstatic that nearly two decades after Mercury's death, Queen have finally nominated him as someone worthy to fill the almighty gap left by the showman. But he's quietly confident he's up to the challenge:
"I’m not superstitious about it. I do recognise the pressure and the expectation and I want to do a great job, I don’t want to let anybody down. I want to put on a good show. But I also feel confident that I’ll be able to do that.

Adam Lambert would never have gained exposure and a record deal without American Idol, runner up or not, and yet he remains forever tarred with the reality TV show contestant brush. From American Idol to fronting the latest incarnation of Queen, Adam Lambert's been on quite a ride.
To handle the two extremes takes some personality, and fortunately Lambert has no shortage of it. He has the kind of voice to challenge Meat Loaf at his most operatic and enough presence to ensure he's no flash in the pan.
But his second album sees him trying to find his own niche in pop, a setting to suit his undoubted star power. It's almost a pity that he – or his management – has chosen the electro-rock style so prevalent in the charts right now, from The Wanted to Katy Perry. He could've discovered his own space.
Still, the collaborators are of the finest quality, from Pharrell Williams producing the flashy, pumping title track to Chic legend Nile Rodgers and Sam Sparro joining forces for Shady, where Scissor Sisters appear to meet Daft Punk.
Zappy funk fuels Never Close Our Eyes and wonky house pokes in on Kickin' In as Lambert cruises through an exultant first half, but overegged ballads soon take centre-stage. Lambert's range on the emotive stuff is impressive, yet a snip here and there would mean a neater, more concise record. No bad effort though.
