I don't dislike PTX. But I don't find them very interesting either. They do covers well if you like that style and they have great accomplishments. With Adam I get the voice, the sexy and the showmanship. But they are not similar in style or presentation. So I am not surprised that tho Adam is loved here, some view them as okay. PTX I'm sure is much loved by their fans also. ITA. Not similar at all, etc. and we all have our likes and dislikes (or meh). I, too, sometimes find some of the other artists mentioned here to not be my cuppa. So I get it. Please note that I only responded because people asked about PTX. Also, I only mentioned their concert because of the coincidence in their performing Mr. Cohen's song and mentioning him whilst, it appears, he passed during the show. Back to lurking...

Wow. Just came from a Pentatonix concert in NJ where they sang Hallelujah and briefly talked about Mr.Cohen. I had no idea he died and they didn't mention it (probably didn't know either). Does this group Pentatonix only sing covers and have no original music out? I saw them when Adam headed the bill here in St. Louis for, I think, a Radio concert promotion and thought their harmonies were nice but I don't think I would pay to see them by themselves. They are just not my thing. Hi adamrocks. I was unable to check back in before now and I'm just now seeing your (and others') questions about PTX. The show last night was a blast and my daughter and I enjoyed it immensely! I will definitely go see them again whenever they are in the area. PTX originally started out covering all kinds of songs but to just say covers is not to do justice to what this a cappella group actually does. They recreate songs like a full band, but with only their voices replicating musical instruments or EDM! They are so good at it that their videos rack up hundreds of millions of views. They have also won a Grammy in the last 2 years for their vocal prowess & a cappella arrangements: one for Daft Punk medley (almost 217 million views); and the other for Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. People were actually covering PTX's covers!! Daft Punk MedleyPTX released their first original album last year, which debuted #1 on the Billboards 200 chart. "Sing", an original single from that album, was reworked to now be the opening song for NFL Thursday night football this season! So Carrie has Sunday night football and PTX has Thursday night. Not shabby! NFL Thursday NightNot to mention their Christmas album went Platinum during the short Xmas season last year. Their new Christmas album also seems set to sell a ton again this Holiday Season. So yeah. Carol of the BellsI feel like I'm doing the same explanations for them as I do for Adam. LOL People will tell me they don't like Adam's music or that they don't know if they would pay to see him in a concert. Oh well, we can't all like the same things or the world would be a mighty boring place I guess. Adam and PTXBTW, Kirstie of PTX has been to 2 QAL shows and has tweeted more than once how awesome Adam is and that it is the best live concert experience for her (I'm paraphrasing but that is the gist). Edited

(When I saw that blue cape, oh Lawd...) AFTER, Katy, AFTAH! After their win, I'll join you in parading around in the blingiest capes that evah fcuking blinged, proclaiming our Idol/Candidate as The One! Work with me, girl. Lol (gotta laugh or else I'll cry.) Edited to correct the spelling of her name 'cause although I'm annoyed that Katy jinxed it, I don't want to offend her. (Ahem... see what I did there, Mr he who shall not be named?) ;-)

I am glad that Adam turned down the Frank N Furter role. I've had too much of the "Not Freddie Mercury" and wouldn't want to read "Not Tim Curry." I also think it is good for Adam to avoid the stereotype that many folks still seem to have about him as flaming, with make-up. Having said that, Adam would have been absolutely delightful in the role, IMO. I imagine he would have been very camp, with a wicked humor and a glint in his eye, but with a hint of darkness in it. Laverne was very striking looking, but I couldn't get into her character or even define it that well. The whole movie would have had a different feeling with Adam, and I think a much higher energy. And definitely more fun. Preach! True dat...

I have to say, I didn't hate Laverne Cox but I think she was the weakest member of the cast. She seemed to be over-acting, but having never watched the original RHPS, I'm not sure if that is what the role calls for. I will have to go watch the original. It's on Logo TV right now. Thanks, adamrocks! I am DVR'ing it now (can't deal with the commercials.)

I may be quite wrong, but i didn't think the left lips were Adam's. I think they were someone else's lips? I was wondering about that myself. A couple of times he pulled his tongue up and back, which is something a singer with his training would not do. Hmmm. And, as I also added to my original post, the teeth are *not shaped like Adam's teeth either. (I need a life.) lol
