Grammys criteria is susposed to be based on critical acclaim. But the lines been blured over the years. Recently Commercial acclaim goes a long way. As for Taylor she is a real musician, she 100% writes all her music. Even she may have co writes. Would say 70% of her album is from her lyrically. Compared to the other pop girls who don't write as many lyrcis as she does. SO I think it is unfair to write her off, based on the type of music she makes. She may not techniquley have Adams voice lol, but thats unrealistic. Its about how you emotionally connect, its the whole package. When you listin to a song on the radio its the immediate hook, catchiness e.t.c. Should Adam have the same commerical success? Absoloutely. But theirs no point wallowing, when he has nothing out currently.

Remember, the Grammy, unless it is a "live" award, is all about Recordings. I always understood "Best Pop Solo performance" is just solo as opposed to group, duo, or collab. And Pop is the so called genre. I don't think it has anything to do with the vocal (other than it is NOT an instrumentaL!!) Correct. I see people making this mistake all the time. In the case of the Grammy's Pop Vocal album just means a Pop album with a vocal performance as opposed to a Pop instrumental. The award is not based on the quality of the vocal but on the overall work.

Well since people and/or groups like..... Queen, The Who, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Guns N' Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Janis Joplin, and Bjork etc. etc .) .....haven't won a Grammy.....I really don't understand the Grammy's criteria for voting. Not sure why Led Zeppelin is on that list but add Katy Perry and Justin Bieber (so being a big seller is not enough), quite a number of important hiphop artists (Public Enemy, The Notorious B.I.G.), Guns 'n Roses, Journey, The Kinks, TALKING HEADS!!!! Led Zeppelin finally won!! 2014 "Celebration Day" Best Rock Album Won The Doors received a Grammy lifetime achievement award in 2007. Jimi Hendrix received a Grammy lifetime achievement award in 1993. ETA: Duh to me.....LZ was Grammy-less until earlier this year so still on many lists of famous non-Grammy winners.

I'm not a fan of pop music. Before Adam, I never listened. Don't know who all these artists are. Don't care. I've also never been a fan of rock and roll bands. Never owned any music by Queen. And, if I am totally honest, I am not a big fan of Adam's music on FYE and Trespassing. There, I've said it. I actually anticipate that I am not going to be in love with the music on A3 either. But, I am a HUGE HUGE fan of Adam Lambert. His voice moves me in ways that I cannot describe. His interpretations of songs are a wonder to hear and see. His personality on and off stage sparkles. He is smart, articulate, clever, humble, generous, and gracious. There is not much I would not watch if it had Adam in it - even the ridiculousness of Glee and the totally manufactured American Idol. I have greatly enjoyed this QAL era because, to me, it is a musical theater extravaganza. The music lets Adam show off his incredible voice. The Queen image lets him show off his theatrical personas. The publicity lets me see Adam talking - my second favorite thing after Adam singing. Whatever avenue Adam chooses in his career, I will be there, cheering him on. And since I am resigned to the improbability of Adam Lambert performing MY preferred type of music or theatre any time in the near future, I am fine with whatever happens next, as long as I get my Adam fixes. I love this post! I still can't believe I've watched Glee and have kept episodes dvred. Plus.... YOU I have learned so much from you. Thank you! I just love you Cassie for your honesty, for your classiness ,real knowledge of singing and for your unconditional love for ADAM..

Oh hey, so not the point! Adam in all his versatility is the interest. A3 will be amazing regardless of its genre or lack there of. BA, before Adam I never listened to pop music, I prefer classic or the other end of the spectrum Rock. Big bombastic stuff. But with Adams voice i would buy anything he does. I really don't think as a fan I'm too different than most, we just like Adam, whatever he decides to do. My hope is TV Adam and won't even suggest the type of show. Because if he decides to do it I am sure it will be new and original!

Just anticipating I won't like something before I actually hear it, does not make much sense to me. I can imagine one day The Adam Lambert show. Talk show, with guests. And he performs in the end. Radio is for singers with the overall product. You just don't get the full expereince from Adam through Radio. Thats why TV is his selling point. Every time he goes on tv, his albums or singles always rise in sales.
