Sorry, that makes no sense to me mathematically! If they have double shows lumped together, wouldn't that totally screw up the averages? The totals would be the same no matter what. But the averages would be skewed. Also, there were
6 cities with 2 shows,
not 5 because Nica forgot to list Las Vegas in this list: Toronto, Uncasville (CT), Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland.
LOL, why on earth would you think it makes sense. I don't think they care if it makes sense. But I think it does make sense. When they reported the cities with multiple shows they lumped them together. They clearly label it as city/ x #of shows. This is their standard reporting formula. Then the column on the report that was linked is labeled Cities/Shows indicating that the 2 numbers are for that. So if they have their database set up with the cities with multiple shows entered as an aggregate then when they total all the entries for that tour they would divide by the number of cities not the number of shows because the multiple shows in one city are already averaged in the original entry. Also the column with the averages does not state whether it is per show or per city so whichever works out correct is more likely to be the one they use. That's my opinion, so if you don't agree it's no big deal but it does make sense.
I doubt that Pollstar made a mistake and put two dates together. Pollstar has a stardard reporting format that includes the event date.
Even if they did combined shows, the number of cites and shows does not work.
The Pollstar report for Queen + Adam Lambert is 28/33 for cities/shows.
In 2014 Q+AL Tour included 29 cities and 35 shows. So if every show was included it would be 29/35.

They did two special shows that would not be counted as part of the tour: iHR Preview (free tickets) and NYE Concert (TV Performance audience).
> There are 3 events missing, there is 1 city missing from the total.
So how could this happen? 1. Pollstar could have made a mistake. (I doubt it.)
2. Pollstar did not include 1 concert in a city that only had 1 concert
AND 1 concert from a city with 2 concerts in missing or misreported with 2 concert dates being reported as 1 concert.
Those are the only way to get from actual 29 cities/35 events to reported 28 cities/33 events. You cannot just combine events and get to 28/33.
My guess is that there is one concert missing (maybe Korea) and that one venue made a reporting error or ommission.

Setting this aside, the more important numbers are the tour ticket receipts gross was estimated to be $37 million which is a big number for an arena tour with only 33 events. And that number does not include VIP ticket upgrades, concessions and merchandise, and other revenues. For example, some of these concerts were almost certainly gross + a guarantee payment -- for example the two Hard Rock Casino shows and the two Mohegan Sun shows.
Hard Rock, for example, as sold out. But the box office only handled part of the sales.
The box office report: 7 Queen + Adam Lambert The Joint, Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas, Nev. July 5-6, 2014 $890,970 5,388 / 5,388 2 / 2 $300, $250, $125, $49.50 AEG Live
5,388 is for 2 shows, 2,694 average per show. The venue has a 4,500-person capacity and I confirmed with the security manager that the shows were completely sold out and that over 4,500 people were at both shows. The casinos do these shows to get traffic into the venue and many tickets are comped to "good customers". The bands/artists are compensated differently for casino shows. I also confirmed with the venue that the box office reported all the tickets that they sold -- the rest of the audience had passes not tickets.
Add to that the $495 VIP tickets that were sold -- only $300 of that would be reported -- the rest goes to directly to LiveNation and Q+AL.
