No, DLing is DLing. Streaming is using something like Pandora, or Spotify, or Rdio! I DLed Rdio last night and it is pretty damn easy to use! Still confused. I went to Rdio on my computer, signed in using facebook account and I could listen to Adam's songs. Does that kind of streaming count? I didn't have to download Rdio like you did I didn't DL on my desk top either. But I did get the app for my phone and iPad. I used DL incorrectly

Streaming a thousand times is too obvious. Well be noticed. Its like viewing vids on yt. 1000 views in a row from the same ip address wont affect views, be too suspicious. But say 10-50 streams would per person. Artists get paid in royalties through the ads in between songs. They get paid per stream. I kno Taylor Swift took her catalogue off Spotify. For various reasons. On demand streaming was up 54% last year. With 164 billion streams last year. But radio still remains top source for music discovery. No one knows what Billboard is doing with repeat streaming. They have not released this info. They have not even published a complete list of what streaming services they are using. The repeat streaming will, however, increase an artist's and associated rights holders share of the streaming revenue. Similarly, no one knows how YT counts views once the realtime counter ends (> 300-ish views). Although you might think (as I did) that YT would throw out all the views from constant repeat viewing, some Adam fans ran a test of it in 2012 and proved some portion of repeat views are counted. A fan replicated the test in 2014 and it still works. I remain surprised. *** Artists and many others split the royalties for streaming media plays. The ad revenue and subscription fees go to the service. >> Using Spotify as an example: Streaming services, most notably Spotify (by far the largest) use what is referred to as a parimutuel royalty system: all the money collected goes into a big pool, Spotify takes their 30% off the top, and whatever is left is distributed to artists based on their share of overall plays. *** Here is the Nielsen report: www.nielsen.com/content/dam/corporate/us/en/public%20factsheets/Soundscan/nielsen-2014-year-end-music-report-us.pdfRadio is only #1 when they bundled online radio and stream on radio associated digital sites with radio. And the data was collected in August-September 2014, survey by Nielsen of 2,581 US residents, aged 13+, who speak English. In the above survey, 51% of people reported that they used radio or radio-related streaming services to discover new music. They also reported that in 2014, during a typical week, 67% of music consumers listened to music online. >> In other words, digital streaming is now #1 form of music discovery. ** The shift is happening so fast that Radio is NOW no longer number 1 even with bundling the radio related digital with broadcast radio. US smartphone penetration is now over 80% of 13+ music listeners. (Feb 2015 survey.) The growth of smartphone usage is "biblical". 2014 41% of people use smartphone to listen to music 2013 20% of poeple use smartphone to listen to music ** Music behavior is not the same across genres. Pop music is 21% of track sales but only 10.8% of album sales. Rock music accounted for 33% of album sales in 2014. R&B/Hip Hop accounted for 13% of albums but 28.5% of streaming in 2014.

Oh and I forgot - this is totally off topic MUSE has been in the studio and fans knew an album was in the works. And there was some vague comments about a new single too offensive for radio. But they did not plan to officially announce it yet. But earlier today pre-order information for the band's next album 'Drones' was accidentally revealed on iTunes. 11 hours ago from NME.... So 4 hours ago, MUSE/Matt officially announced the new album. They were not planning to announce it today.

OK, off to make some playlists. Then, when the album is released I'll add Adam songs that fit. I think I could come up with some great Queen stuff that might blend in with some of Adam's new stuff. For now, I'll make some that blend with his old stuff. He may have picked up a few fans from the QAL venture.
