Will streaming count internationally? If it will, I have to say I don't have Spotify or Pandora here in my country. Does Rdio count? For the US charts, they only count sales, streaming and radio audience impact within the US. Billboard does NOT count.... 1. Sales sales made in the US but delivered to an international address (physical or virtual). 2. Streaming from sites when the listener is outside of the US. 3. Radio listeners that are not counted by Nielsen Radio Rating (used to be Arbitron, Nielson acquired them). But this is going to be a global launch. So local matters locally and is important. At the same time, nothing is independent anymore. For example, if the new single races up the Australian chart, that will effect the PDs in other English language countries and similar marketing. And if the song is a hit in the US and Canada, it has a better shot of making the BBC 1 playlist in the UK where some listeners might actually know who Adam Lambert is now. (Thanks Brian and Roger!! ) ETA: Unless there is a chart that I am not aware of (and that is very possible), Israel does not have a single, national song chart. There is Israeli song sales certification done by the Israeli Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). And usually success in Israel is measured by certified wholesale sales through the IFPI.

I've always wondered why they even bothered do that, since it was always 2 weeks late. Maybe they've finally decided the same thing. Not very relevant to publish that list since up to date info is readily available online. I read somewhere -- I can't remember where -- that they dropped it because album sales are no longer an important measure of popularity. In the album era (1970 - 2009) top selling albums = popular music. In the 1920's it was sheet music. In the 1950 jukebox play matter. Now we can start to wave a fond ado to albums and physical music stores. Yes, I was wondering if album sales were so feeble that it was almost embarrassing to the magazine to have it on their back page. However, I was looking forward to seeing Adam's name on the list!

Yes, it would have been cool. But I will be even happier with a 4- or 5- star RS Review.

I wonder whether Shoshanna sometimes wished she never started discussions with fans via twitter. The crap people are sending her directly and the stuff they are asking, .... Got one question: Why is this fanbase sh*tting itself, like they have never seen a single / album drop before. What is wrong with folks? This is not our first rodeo, and the names that I see on twitter, who seem in need of a glambulance or two, those are not new names? Want to yell at them: Get a grip, but somehow, I think they are beyond the point where yelling might be of assistance, lol. Here is what I see: 1) His management team clearly has put a promotional plan in place, and it will come rolling down the hill like a freight train before we know it 2) His label is actually interested in him and is supportive, what a difference. 3) Shoshanna is proud of the plan they have put together for Adam. 4) Adam is nervous and he looks fantastic. Still gives good interviews, talking points are exactly mapped out. All is well. Everyone can relax, nothing seems all that unusual, and everything seems in good hands right now. Got one question:

I think you probably meant this as a rhetorical question/s, but I'm going to give you my 2 cents anyway. This is not our first rodeo, but the rules have changed. I remember radio requesting and filling out request forms, but now we're being to not to do that unless we're in the proper demographic. I remember buying on iTunes and Amazon, but now we're maybe supposed to stream, too. I think we can buy no matter how old we are, but should we stream if we're older? Shazam is new or not and it is or is not streaming? I'm fairly certain Spotify is streaming, but I still don't know whether it will help if we aren't in the correct age group. Are there more streaming sites and are some or one better to use? Playlists come in here somewhere, but should include lots of artists whether we really want to listen to them or not. There is something about making the playlists attractive enough for other people to want to copy them or maybe not. Should we make playlists that kids in the right demographic want to copy? There are a whole lotta fans giving other fans unsolicited advice that are adding to the confusion. Many of the fan advisors (the mean girls) seem hell-bent on offending as many people as possible. Their credibility is zero once they start calling people stupid or other names that mean the same thing. The mean girls have targeted older fans, blaming them for radio's rejection of Trespassing. The older fans are riled up and aren't going to take it anymore. I don't know exactly what Shoshanna is getting paid to do. If it's explaining stuff to the fans, she's going to have to do it better. That twitter party was a mess. She answered far too many questions from too many people and the info got lost in the replies. She needs a plan. Put out the info in short digestible bites and not let herself get sidetracked answering questions that dilute the message. As for those irritating fans on twitter, the only thing I know to do is unfollow them. EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT...
