Singing covers again... Yah true... ...however, on the bright side...by 2017 and finished touring for A3, and while developing album 4 he could be... Making money...Yah! Expanding his brand! Expanding a fan base!

Love the way how Adam plays Elvis in the GT video. That dynamic energy with which he takes over center-stage, just to play his role for a brief moment. And to do it perfectly, and then drop the truth and tell us, it's just satire...go back to your empty Ghost Town, because Elvis is dead, just like James Dean, and the Hollywood of our dreams.
What he leaves us with, is a longing, a longing for more ... ...more of what? Good question!
In music, there is karaoke, in acting there is imitation. And then there is a way to do it right. I think Adam would be up the the task. It's an interesting thought, that maybe there could be something brewing there already. If Adam plays the part, then I sure hope that script is interesting enough and has enough layers to allow for something more than a plain biographical play. Intriguing.

Still waiting to hear Ghost Town on my radio in Ct. Supposedly it was added to a couple of Hartford stations but one would never know. I'm getting impatient!

Not sure, for a variety of reasons, that I would see Adam playing Elvis as a good idea - other acting projects by all means, preferably non-biographical. Just my honest opinion.

**** Singing covers again... Oh but what covers!! Elvis had some of the best songs in music. Also cross-genre. **** I have generally been a big fan of Adam covering some Elvis songs, less of a fan of Adam playing Elvis -- particularly in the bio-pic that was in the works based on the excellent, but very serious, "Last Train to Memphis: The Rise of Elvis Presley Paperback" (1995) by Peter Guralnick or the Simon Fuller-Priceless Presley project. Both were derailed when Warner Bros. scored the rights to the Elvis catelog. But with Baz Luhrmann directing, it seems a slight bit more realistic and a lot more suitable. Adam certainly looks like Elvis and can capture his essence in performance. And he is a far better choice than Jack White was was jokingly referred to here: www.rollingstone.com/movies/news/baz-luhrmann-in-talks-to-direct-elvis-presley-biopic-20140501On the amazing side, we could get Adam playing Elvis in a Baz Luhrmann production of "Viva Las Vegas". On the good side, we would get Adam singing great songs including Rockabilly, classic R&R and Gospel, and Adam would be playing someone from Tupelo, MS (my adopted home town). On the weird side, we would get Adam singing country music. I really never thought I would see that. I hope someone has the brilliance to do this but I am skeptical. This is a $200 million project and it would be really shocking if they chose someone to play the lead who had never been in a film -- and whose acting experience was comprised of PLL and Glee. **** Setting aside the practical side of me for a moment, it would be amazing for Adam to do this -- and I believe he would be great in it.

Well, I'm curious as to which audience an Elvis bio-pic would appeal? Elvis's life was an open book and many documentaries and stories have already been told. What would be new about it? As for me, not interested. Who's career can you think of that was advanced by portraying a celebrity who was no longer living? MAYBE Joaquin Phoenix in Walk the Line or Val Kilmer in The Doors? And, please no, I hope their not thinking of a remake of Jailhouse Rock or something along that order! I know we're only speculating but, for me, it's cringe worthy.

Singing covers again... I know you are just joking, but it makes me think. What's wrong with covers? As Adam said he learned working with Queen, A great song is a great song. Classic songs became so because they are great musically and lyrically and can evoke strong emotional responses. Give Adam a great classic, coupling it with his mad vocal technique and amazing interpretive skills, and he will make your jaw drop to the floor. We have all witnessed that with Queen, Idol, Upright Cabaret and Brigadoon. Yes, I know Adam's goal is to be a top40 pop star. I get that. It looks like he may achieve his dream this time around. Happy for him! The songs from TOH we have heard so far are ear-worm-y and fit the genre well while giving something a bit unexpected. I can't say, however, that I expect to hear them five or ten years from now. I don't expect that they will be covered by hundreds of other singers like "Yesterday" or "Feeling Good" or "Cry Me a River" or "Summertime." If the best male singer in the past 50 years would record an album of the best songs written in the past 50 years, it would be out of this world. (And, yes, I know it would probably not sell, at least to the demographic Adam wants, and Adam will probably never do it. Just saying, it would be awesome.)

You already named 2 significant ones. Plus, Jamie Foxx played Ray Charles in a biopic that went to theaters after Charles died (& he won the Oscar for it). Andre Benjamin (Outkast) played Jimi Hindrix recently in All Is By My Side. Marion Cottillard played Edith Piaf (another Oscar win). The list goes on. Musical biopics have actually had pretty great track records critically. It just depends on the quality of the people working on it. As to what audience it would appeal - I'm significantly younger than the demographic that grew up listening to Johnny Cash, The Doors, etc. But my friends and I all went to see and enjoyed a lot of these movies listed. These movies are seen as movie dramas, not fan-reels. It's the story, starring cast, and promo that drives audiences in. Not necessarily the actual subject of the biopic. Anyway, I think the speculation is fun. Knowing Adam, his total self-awareness & self-deprecation, I don't think he'd attach himself to a potentially huge project like this, employing a skill he's always been very humble about (acting), unless he had confidence that it was worth the risk. Also, being in a successful (even mildly successful) movie would only make Adam's star bigger. The "cross-over" star is a BIG thing in Hollywood. It would definitely be fun to watch, as a fan. Even though, after this album, his star will be bigger than ever.

Elvis was portrayed brilliantly already by the great actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers. He won the Golden Gobe. I think Adam would be smart to start with " smaller" roles before he tackles a leading role where he would have a lot at stake. Go the Jared Leto route. Just imo of course. But singing some of those covers? I could get on board with that under the right circumstances.
