Singing covers again... I know you are just joking, but it makes me think. What's wrong with covers? As Adam said he learned working with Queen, A great song is a great song. Classic songs became so because they are great musically and lyrically and can evoke strong emotional responses. Give Adam a great classic, coupling it with his mad vocal technique and amazing interpretive skills, and he will make your jaw drop to the floor. We have all witnessed that with Queen, Idol, Upright Cabaret and Brigadoon. Yes, I know Adam's goal is to be a top40 pop star. I get that. It looks like he may achieve his dream this time around. Happy for him! The songs from TOH we have heard so far are ear-worm-y and fit the genre well while giving something a bit unexpected. I can't say, however, that I expect to hear them five or ten years from now. I don't expect that they will be covered by hundreds of other singers like "Yesterday" or "Feeling Good" or "Cry Me a River" or "Summertime." If the best male singer in the past 50 years would record an album of the best songs written in the past 50 years, it would be out of this world. (And, yes, I know it would probably not sell, at least to the demographic Adam wants, and Adam will probably never do it. Just saying, it would be awesome.) When I posted "singing covers again" it was with tongue in cheek, and thinking of those who feel an artist must compose the music he sings. I disagree with that, and also think if TOH is as full of fabulous music as it seems, that issue will disappear. Who knows what will happen, but it is awfully exciting stanning this guy!

IDK Cassie, I think he may do an album like that just not in the near future. I personally would love him to do a jazz album. But right now pop is where he wants to succeed. Once he gets that he will have countless opportunities to move on to other things.

Well, I'm curious as to which audience an Elvis bio-pic would appeal? Elvis's life was an open book and many documentaries and stories have already been told. What would be new about it? As for me, not interested. Who's career can you think of that was advanced by portraying a celebrity who was no longer living? MAYBE Joaquin Phoenix in Walk the Line or Val Kilmer in The Doors? And, please no, I hope their not thinking of a remake of Jailhouse Rock or something along that order! I know we're only speculating but, for me, it's cringe worthy. Elvis was portrayed brilliantly already by the great actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers. He won the Golden Gobe. I think Adam would be smart to start with " smaller" roles before he tackles a leading role where he would have a lot at stake. Go the Jared Leto route. Just imo of course. But singing some of those covers? I could get on board with that under the right circumstances. Seems to me that Adam is already taking the Jared Leto route -- a cameo on PLL, a feature role on Glee. I really doubt that he would be consider for a lead in a major Hollywood production at this point in his career. Plus, I do not believe that this Elvis film could) get funded without a major star attached to it. But just assuming that this fan-tasy is possible -- Adam does look like Elvis and he has something like Elvis' presence on stage. He could certainly sing the songs. And a Baz Lurhman version of Elvis' life would probably not be a literal recreation of the story. The market - it depends on how good the movie is -- if it is like The Doors (an inaccurate muddle of fictionalized and real event IMO, Rolling Stone liked it), it will probably not have a market and lose money. If it is an excellent film based on Elvis' life and gets to the core of his complex story, like Ray and Walk the Line, it will find an audience and make money. >> There has not been an Elvis biopic movie yet. There was a TV Movie in 1979, a dreadful TV series that lasted 10 episodes before being cancelled then the 12 episodes were turned into a TV mini-series from 1990 (Michael St. Gerard as Elvis Presley), and a TV Mini-Series in 2005 (Jonathan Rhys Meyers played Elvis). Regarding the Elvis TV mini-series starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers -- he was good and deserved to win the Golden Globe for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film, the mini-series was not so good -- IMO yet another sanitized version of the Elvis story. It was made in conjunction with the Elvis Presley Estate so some parts of Elvis reality are missing. *** There have been a few attempts to make an unauthorized (that is uncensored) Elvis movie. This project seems like it has a good shot of happening -- partly because Warners has the right to the music. They actually got the music rights intending to make the billionaire producer Steve Bing-funded biopic about Elvis Presley which was going to be based on Last Train to Memphis -- a traditional biopic -- but as of Feb 2015 the Warner 2000 project is the Baz Lurhman Elvis film.

If Adam ever does a movie, in this case a biopic, I don't think it'll be seen in the industry as 'doing covers again'. It'll be seen as a singer crossing over into movies - especially to the people who matter in the industry. That would be the headline, so to speak (along with the inevitable, 'can he actually act?' critics). The industry would focus on the new actor aspect with little on-screen experience. Not the covers thing.

I think Adam could handle whatever acting is thrown his way. He is a natural, like his singing. And it seems he wants to do it. Remember, Elvis' first movie was Love Me Tender. His acting in that was top notch. Us Elvis fans at the time saw a budding, talented movie star in the making. However, it was not to be. The Colonel stepped in and Elvis ended up doing all those crazy fluff movies, contributing to his downfall IMHO.

I agree a film with this budget would need a star attached. But the star could be his manager and they could cast someone more unknown for the lead. It's been done before. I just don't know if Adam is quite ready for this kind of major role. It also can take years for a project yetto take off. Look at the Freddie Mercury movie. Maybe he could do a great story about an Elvis impersonator.

I don't know about the Elvis thing. It is always risky portraying a real person whose fans have strong preconceived notions. But then again, Adam has been there done that and won over many such fans, sooooo ... maybe. Well if singing with Queen took balls of steel, playing Elvis would require titanium ones!!! But then we know Adam is fearless and would certainly require some serious acting chops because Elvis was one complex screwed up dude. Baz is great and you know the costumed would be spectacular (his wife does them and nearly always wins an oscar) #moo #carryon
