Finally! I know more about what is happening in Australia than in the U.S.. Another great job. I want to see the playback from this one. His voice was not only very up front, but also almost raw, without lots of reverb. And, it seemed to me that there was no backing vocal track doubling the melody on the chorus and bridge. Just Adam live. Did others hear that as well? Adam has such vocal presence and power, he really doesn't need his voice doubled. Plus, when it is doubled, it gives the appearance that Adam is perhaps lip syncing or is unable to carry the melody without help. (To those listeners who don't know Adam, of course.) I much prefer just Adam live. Yes I heard that too cassie: Nice and Pure vocals and the music was also pretty low on sound. A lot of Adam on this one! I was thinking of this as I read your comments Cassie. It seems that most of these contestants seem to be pushing their voices but the sound is coming from primarily the throat rather than the head or the chest...consequently it is often flat and lifeless until they open up a final note and a wee bit of vibrato and chest floats in. Adams notes always come from the chest or the head...and the passage is so seamless that there is rarely that colourless sound. That leads me to wonder if the consistent preference of listeners in these shows, towards the wgwg singers is that this sort of laid back laconic music does not call for much push as a rule, so these singers vocals tend to sit in the chest...or head sometimes...and that is more pleasurable/relaxing than the other. just musing...

Really interesting on TheVoiceAu this year they aren't doing iTunes purchases of songs as votes. So great for Adam he gets the bump without being pushed out by song vote purchases... you can either call or vote via The Voice App...
Yes, that's really great for Adam.
On other thing, I wonder how the live audience reaction after listening to the contestants performances or vocals and after that they're given a chance to hear The Voice of Adam Lambert.
Adam was prerecorded so although was in middle of the show for TV audiences I think it was recorded earlier than the contestants, so just as well for the motley crew of singers this year no direct comparison :-)

The frustration of the audience at most of the singers who have been chosen this year on The Voice AU is huge. As I tweeted last night I think it's an unwritten rule that if you have a guitar and area white guy you have to sing "sensitive" songs and get in touch with your feelings. The prevalence of nasally, back of throat, whiny, jumpy, flat, monotone, strained singing last night was painful.Twitter is not happy and in general the coaches song choices are not doing them any favors.
