This may seem odd, but with many years of flag etiquette behind me, I was very happy to see that after this bit, Adam removed the flag and gently put it into the hands of a waiting roadie without letting it touch the ground. You never know how people are going to react to something and I don't know the etiquette in Brazil but it was respectfully done and with a flourish. International relationships were protected.

When I saw him walk out draped in the flag I was worried. Would he just drop it on the floor like he has pieces of his wardrobe in the past? That would be disastrous in terms of good will. I should have trusted Adam. He was very respectful. Class act!
