Oh! someone else thought the same...it is quite an interesting puzzle. I tend to agree, the only thing that can be heard are the drums, certainly the vocals and the guitar sound go... Maybe there will be something in the next issue of Notes from the Road

OvationImpact @ ovationimpact 14m14 minutes ago OvationImpact retweeted Feral Omg what ... Give me a break, the mic died ... Giving him professional props for not missing a beat.
Feral @feraltwirler For those Following the great "Save Me" debate. THIS vid shows u what happened, NOT Adam Clearly forgetting anythinghttps: // www. youtube.com/watch?v=boXn1I GPD18 & feature = youtu.be ...
After watching the video again and listening to the dry feed, I think it was Brian's guitar or amp that was the problem. Not powered up or something. I say this with the most kindness -- because I adore Brian -- but I think Brian may have missed the cue. In any case, it was clearly a guitar or guitarist issue.

In any case, it was clearly a guitar or guitarist issue. whatever it was, I think it was mechanical not human. Whatever happened triggered Rufus to zip across the stage behind Roger and do something. If it was not mechanical related, he would have had no reason to be moving around back there during the song.

Another take on the great Save Me debate is that Brian's guitar was unplugged form the amp. Listening to the isolated vocals, there is no guitar until after Rufus does his thing. Agree with the problem but I don't think Adam was the first to notice it. Brian says something and then calmly sits there not looking surprised at all when Adam stops singing. I was surprised that Adam didn't just keep singing, not sure why he had to wait for things to get plugged in. But he was also fiddling with his ear monitor controller on his hip right before too so maybe his ear sound went out.

Actually, I think he was signaling behind his back not messing with his controller as his hand is too high up his back. Check out this fan video for a slightly different perspective. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSySyrsSXBs

Adam is signaling behind his back, I think he wants to signal Brian, but just after the signaling you can see Brian walk back to his chair, so Brian didn't get the signaling. But then he sits on his chair looking down, so I think he noticed there was something wrong, only I wonder why he didn't look up to the people behind. And how did Rufus know what he had to do, luckily he DID, but he fixed it so quickly and it was probably very dark, so he had to know what to do.

Isn't it wonderful that things so rarely go wrong that we are spending a lot of time trying to find out why they missed 5 seconds of music?
I really mean this btw, and I have been watching and analyzing too. At first I thought it was Adam, but there seem to be just drums after he stops singing, so yeah, something must have been wrong with the guitar, and maybe more. I think Adam did mess up the first part of Save Me in Sao Paulo though, or maybe this was a little signal of the problem that happened in Rio?
Can I repeat: seriously in awe of QAL and their whole team. I think we can list the mistakes / mishaps on one hand. Mic giving out on opening night, solved within seconds, Adam not being able to hear himself during LOTG somewhere in Australia and singing precisely that (in tune!), maybe one or two times the Q didn't come down correctly and I think I saw one segment not being lit during a show. There must have been so many more things that went wrong during almost 80 (right?) shows of this complexity, but they catch them before we do. And if they don't, nobody panics but they fix it ever so elegantly.
