I think that Adam looks at all this from a very different angle. Adam follows his own artistic star, and he draws a hard line, between the artist and their management. Over the years, he had to find out, to what extent artists are called out or are held responsible for stuff that is their management decision. He even sings about it in Heavy Fire. Adam had to sell BTIKM and NCOE, when the songs dear to his heart were rather TSP and Shady and Cuckoo and PTL, none of which ever got a chance. He now talks openly that he was not allowed to tour during that era, but he never complained about it, at the time. He was holding his head down and did the promotion he was asked to do. None of this was his responsibility, but he and his career are getting held accountable for the results. I think, he sees Demi's situation similar, as just a management decision, that she has to live by. Do I think that Demi could have spoken up and said she wanted something different? Maybe? Maybe she actually likes NJ, and was caught in the middle, who knows, what she really wanted, ultimately she made a very US centric decision, and it is commercially safe and a well trodden path, in that what gets good ratings in the US spills successfully into a tour oversees later on. And if not, well the US is big enough that it does not break the bank. Boiler-plate roll-out model. Her challenge will be, to not let the fame monster and the money machine that made this decision, eat her alive. She has chosen this path, now she has to walk it. Artistically free, this path is not. Financially rewarding? Probably yes. Adam, the artistic flower child, did not sell out, did not always do the commercially safe, chose a different path and tries to do what is commercially savvy, but does not compromise the artistic vision. The result is, that he is often not understood. Criticized for not writing the greatest hit, not taking on the biggest shows, not doing everything just for the sake of fame. He also zig-zags much more, just like all pioneers must. They cannot walk in a straight line, it is much more trial and error, exactly because their path is not well-trodden. Different careers, each with their own challenges, and their own critics. When it comes to that tour, Adam probably gave it up much more easily than his management did. For Adam, it was an idea, but not a necessity to do this tour, his management may have felt more pressure about that. Adam sees Demi as a peer, somebody who has that shared fate, that they get personally held responsible for managerial/business stuff, and so he protects her and probably will do so, as long as he sees his own fandom diss her on social media, because he can be stubborn that way. He probably has put that tour behind him, and especially, if he is now working with somebody to plan a US tour, as he has indicated, then I can totally see, how he has moved on, and treats this as a case of 'when one door closes, the Lord opens a window'. Maybe a promoter has stepped up for a US tour, who was not available 3 months back? We don't know that. What we do know, is that he is working on a US leg of the tour, that his overall TOH tour is world wide, and that he is doing alright. I think, if he can let it roll off his back, we should be able to just let it roll off ours too, at least that is my opinion in that matter. Proud to be a member of a place that has people like you in it. I agree with this 100%

They aren't stating that those who would like to see him on the AMA's or similar are automatically being negative, but are referring specifically to a small segment who because Adam was not on said show claim he is failing. I'm sure most fans would be happy if Adam was also on award shows as well as radio, and are disappointed to a degree when he isn't. However, that is not what is being called out. Thanks for the clarification. Haha...there must be a lot of "failures" in music out there as the number of performance slots in the few award shows is extremely limited. Did the legendary Queen every win or perform at the Grammys? They are considered "world icons" now and there's still demand thanks to Adam

Katerina @jadelle1 51s52 seconds ago I was really 100% under the impression that DL screwed Adam over. I understand him wanting to be positive & moving on etc., but if the reports are accurate (which i think they are) his over forgiving nature just doesn't sit well with me. Adam moved on -- I think we should all move on too. Frankly, unless one of the principals involved in this explains what happened, we have no idea what actually happened. There are not "reports" -- just TMZ and while they are generally reliable about the basic facts they sensationalize everything. It's all working out for Adam and, just speaking for myself, I prefer to have an Adam headline tour rather than Adam on Demi's Tour.

No, really! Think about Jr High School "mean Girls" and that is exactly what these people are like. Has nothing to do with what Adam wants. It has to do with what they want. And as Q3 said, they move the "target." If GT had made Top 10, it'd be a failure because it was not #1! Don't even get me started on how they belittle the QAL collaboration! I'm curious if anyone has ever met these fans -- at a M&G or lining up for a show? I wonder if some of them are internet trolls? They are not internet trolls -- they are committed fans who love Adam, attend many concerts, support him a lot. They just have no perspective. For the most part they have been Adam fans since Idol -- at least one before Idol. And yes, I know some of them in real life. But the disturbing part to me is that a few of these fans are mean to other fans and to Adam's team. One of them actually called up Warner Brother Records and tried to speak with Rob Cavallo to tell them how to promote Adam. She could not get through and got mad that they would not speak to her. And she is not a troll, she will be at several US holiday concerts.

Did the legendary Queen every win or perform at the Grammys? They are considered "world icons" now and there's still demand thanks to Adam Almost all of my favorite musicians are total flops because they were not on the show. Queen are mega flops -- never won a Grammy, never performed on the Grammys, and barely got nominated. If you watched this year's AMAs (I did), the show was pretty much a waste of time and the ratings were not great. No huge bump on iTunes for the artists who performed either. It was all about Adele and Bieber before the show and the same after. This show was invented for TV -- and is so important that the queen of awards shows, Taylor Swift, was out of the country shooting a music video. The ratingsThe “AMAs,” hosted by Jennifer Lopez from Los Angeles, averaged a 3.5 rating/10 share in adults 18-49 and 11 million viewers overall from 8 to 11 p.m., placing second to football in the demo for its time period. From Variety.com For comparison, Sunday Night Football averaged a 5.6/16 in 18-49 and 16.7 million viewers overall on NBC’s stations from 8:30 to 11 p.m., and these numbers are expected to rise by 10% or more in the nationals. JMHO - the highlight of the show was Pentatonix doing Star Wars music. I am sure that if I was 14 I would have thought the closing number with wet Justin Bieber was the highlight but I am not into seeing Justin splashing around and lipsyncing.

A lot of celebrities have had problems with stalkers, and that sounds pretty stalkerish. Wow. And my DH thinks I have an obsession...

They should put together a portfolio and submitted to Adam and see if he wants to hire them as his manager and his publicist and maybe his record label too.
