JUST IN: Adam Lambert Joins Cast of FOX's ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW
International superstar and multi-platinum singer, songerwriter and performer Adam Lambert has joined FOX's THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW" as 'Eddie,' the rock-n-roll loving, ex-delivery boy, who emerges at Dr. Frank-N-Furter's on a motorcycle and crashes the party.
"I grew up watching 'Rocky Horror,' but could never imagine that I would be part of this new vision," said Lambert. "'Rocky Horror' always made me feel like it was OK to celebrate my weirdness. Hallelujah, bless my soul! I love that old time rock-n-roll!"
Lambert is a successful artist and actor whose work has earned him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, a BMI Award for Award-Winning Song, two GLAAD Awards, a Young Hollywood Award for Artist of the Year, a TEEN CHOICE Award for Choice Male Reality/Variety Star and a People's Choice Award nomination for Breakout Musical Artist.
Previously announced cast members include Laverne Cox (Dr. Frank-N-Furter, "Orange is the New Black"), Victoria Justice (Janet, "Victorious"),
Ryan McCartan (Brad, "Liv & Maddie," "Heathers the Musical"), Reeve Carney (Riff Raff, "Penny Dreadful," "Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark") and Staz Nair (Rocky, "Game of Thrones").
THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW follows sweethearts Janet (Justice) and Brad (McCartan), who stumble upon Dr. Frank-N-Furter's (Cox) bizarre abode. Frank-N-Furter, a sexually ambiguous, flirtatious alien mad-scientist - with the help of his faithful servants, Riff Raff (Carney) and Magenta - is holding an annual, Transylvanian science convention to showcase the birth of "Rocky Horror" (Nair) - a fit, attractive man created solely to fulfill Frank's desires.
About Adam Lambert: Best known for his soaring voice and unique blend of theatrical flair and glam-rock sensibilities, Adam Lambert has performed in front of sold-out crowds worldwide -both as a solo artist and with the legendary rock group Queen. His work has garnered a number of music awards and nominations, including a Grammy Award nomination for "Best Male Pop Vocal Performance," a BMI Award for "Award-Winning Song," two GLAAD Awards, a Young Hollywood Award for "Artist of the Year," a TEEN CHOICE Award for "Choice Male Reality/Variety Star" and a People's Choice Award nomination for "Break-Out Musical Artist." A San Diego, CA, native, Lambert stepped into the national spotlight in 2009 when he became a finalist on the eighth season of AMERICAN IDOL. His vocal range, along with his unique style, made him a standout contestant and he quickly won over millions of viewers. After the season wrapped, Lambert released his widely successful RCA Records debut, "For Your Entertainment," which has sold nearly two million copies worldwide to date. The album's first single, "Whataya Want From Me," became a radio smash and earned him his first Grammy Award nomination for "Best Male Pop Vocal Performance." In June of 2010, Lambert embarked on his first headlining tour, playing to sold-out crowds in the U.S., Europe and Asia. His sophomore album, "Trespassing," was released in 2012, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. Most recently, Lambert wrapped a hugely successful world tour fronting Queen, with original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor. Additionally, Lambert had a five-episode arc on "Glee," during its 2013-2014 season. His third studio album, "The Original High," executive-produced by Max Martin and Shellback, was released on Warner Bros. Records on June 12, 2015 and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 Album chart. "Ghost Town," the first single from "The Original High," was praised by the New York Times as "his best single to date." The album's second and most recent single, "Another Lonely Night," currently impacting Top 40 radio, displays Lambert's signature vocal stylings, with hints of precision and controlled intensity shining through. On February 23, Lambert will kick off his much anticipated "THE ORIGINAL HIGH TOUR," in Huntington, NY.
THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW is from Fox 21 Television Studios and The Jackal Group. Lou Adler (Grammy Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee) and Gail Berman (TV, film and Broadway producer), along with Emmy Award winner Kenny Ortega ("High School Musical" franchise, "This Is It," "Descendants," "Hocus Pocus," "Newsies"), will serve as executive producers. Ortega will also direct and choreograph.
THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW is a reimagining of the cult classic, which is celebrating 40 years of theatrical distribution - longer than any other film in history. One of the most popular films of all time, it still plays in movie theaters around the world.

Adam Lambert to Co-Star in Fox's 'Rocky Horror Picture Show'
The 'American Idol' and 'Glee' alum will take over the role originally played by Meat Loaf.
Adam Lambert is returning to Fox.
The American Idol and Glee alum has been tapped to co-star in the network's rendition of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Lambert will take over the role of Eddie that was originally portrayed by Meat Loaf in the cult 1975 film. Eddie is the rock 'n' roll-loving ex-delivery boy who emerges at Dr. Frank-N-Furter's on a motorcycle and crashes the party.
“I grew up watching Rocky Horror, but could never imagine that I would be part of this new vision. Rocky Horror always made me feel like it was OK to celebrate my weirdness. Hallelujah, bless my soul! I love that old time rock-n-roll!” Lambert said in a nod to one of the film's musical productions. (Watch Meat Loaf's arrival as Eddie, below.)

Lambert's name was one of the first to surface for a role in Fox's Rocky Horror. Sources tell THR that he was originally considered for the role of Frank-N-Furter that was originated by Tim Curry. Orange Is the New Black actress Laverne Cox will take on the iconic role for Fox.
Lambert joins a cast that also includes Victoria Justice and Disney star Ryan McCartan as Janet and Brad, who stumble upon Frank-N-Furter's self-described "sweet transvestite" and the scientist's bizarre castle. The roles were originated by Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick. Penny Dreadful alum Reeve Carney will play Riff-Raff, and singer Staz Nair will portray Rocky Horror.
The two-hour Fox special, due in fall 2016, will be directed, exec produced and choreographed by Kenny Ortega (High School Musical) and filmed in advance. Ortega, Gail Berman and Lou Adler, who produced the original film, are attached as exec producers. The new Rocky will be produced by Fox 21 Television studios and Berman's The Jackal Group.
Lambert is repped by CAA and Direct Management.
