:LOL I told Sharka yesterday he would like it if found it. And he did. :D And I like Adam's note - biblical. Yeah, I can agree with it.

I'd bet my house that if he could choose between queen and a top 10 hit, he'd dump queen in a heartbeat

Well....he doesn't have to choose does he. He can have his cake and eat it too...along with hopefully tons of new projects/endeavors. He's both an artist and a performer. QAL has provided enormous exposure, lots of positive press and tons of self confidence boosters....plus $$$ which is a definite plus as he pursues his solo stuff.
ETA: I'm so glad he finds Sharka's digital drawing hilarious.....and not awesome or inspiring...lol.

This is great! You can see all his facial expressions and antics during STL. Great clear close ups. This is perfect! I so love this vid, especially after 4:00 minute - he made me smile. He is so cute and awesome! ILHSM!!!

I'd bet my house that if he could choose between queen and a top 10 hit, he'd dump queen in a heartbeat I tend to agree. He's had some strong songs of his own but he still hasn't gotten that #1 mega-hit that sustains for a long time, that song that is heard everywhere for months and months, the song that everyone knows, whether they're an Adam fan or not. We're all praying that this will happen. And he's in a much better place, solo-wise than he was a few years ago. I think "dump" isn't quite the right word about what he would do about Queen, but he sure would be in a much better place if he got his own solo mega-hit. His solo career is his meat and potatoes; his work with Queen is an exquisite dessert that he can enjoy whenever asked. What a position for a singer to be in! Most singers would kill to have such an opportunity. Queen has given him tons of credibility in the music world, both among general fans and among music professionals. It will be interesting if we see Adam and Sauli together in Helsinki. We all go nuts when we see them together. I would assume Sauli will go to the concert. He usually does. Then he and Adam can have their own after-party. LOL

My thought is there are many different kinds of happy and no reason you can't have more than one kind. The beauty of this situation for Adam is exactly that he doesn't have to choose, he gets to have them both which makes them both even better. Yesss! This is exactly right. Isn't it a great day when the topic of conversation is how happy Adam is? With the conclusion that on stage he is indeed very happy!? Now I might have to think about how to put in words why he makes me happy. Anybody want to inspire me with their own story?? Why does Adam make me happy? So hard to understand and explain, even to myself. My DH is very supportive of my addiction, but is only a casual fan. When his friends ask him why I love Adam and will travel (often by myself) a significant distance to attend his concerts he will tell them "because he makes her happy". Certainly, Adam is gorgeous, sexy, smart and ever so endearing and entertaining, but as Cassie would say, it is "THE VOICE" that pierces my heart and touches my soul so deeply. Adam's voice had me at "Mama", and I can't explain well how his voice takes me to a different plane - one of true happiness. As rihannsu wisely said, there are many different kinds of happiness. I split my time between New Mexico in the winter and southwestern Colorado during the warmer months. I am most "happy" when I'm in the Colorado Rockies. The mountains give me a sense of peace, joy and contentment, and sing to my soul. Adam and his voice give me a somewhat different kind of happiness - one of awe, excitement and rejuvenation. Adam energizes me and makes me feel young again (I'm in the latter part of my 60's). Seeing him live brings me an incredible "high" - he is my drug! As far as where Adam is "happier" on stage, it is obvious that he is joyous both with Queen and at his own concerts. Being on stage is his "high", and as some have said, it is great that he doesn't have to choose. My life has changed so much and I'm a happier person because of Adam. And thanks to all the wonderful people here on Adamtopia who share my love for Adam!

We live in a society that is predominantly "either/or". Adam is not. He is more fluid than that, and more eclectic. How many times have we heard him say that he hates being asked for "favorites". I think he has actually in at least one interview, been asked which he prefers: solo work or his work with Queen. He didn't choose, but emphasized, instead, what was satisfying about both gigs. I don't think that was just Adam being politically correct.
As for singing "cover" music with Queen, some of those songs are remarkably complex, and highly challenging, vocally. As a singer I can attest that tackling a piece of music that requires my utmost vocally with its breadth, complexity, and depth gives me a unique joy and thrill. Singing great music along with great artists is "better than sex." With Adam's "one in a billion" voice, I can imagine he might feel the same about singing Queen music WITH Queen.
I am so glad that Adam has both opportunities, and we have both opportunities to witness all aspects of an Adam Lambert performance.
