I know this is such a late response, but I was taking advantage of the holiday to catch up on threads here. My mind wanders and I occasionally daydream about Adam's next concert tour, and I'd been speculating about it again this weekend before I read your thoughts, NoAngel. Maybe I got sidetracked by the word "story" and we're actually envisioning the new concert experience in the same way but, although I think the next tour will be planned to evoke a certain vibe (of rock star realness or whatever it turns out to be) and guided by the kind of mission statement that Adam likes to work from and an umbrella idea that will drive all his staging choices and every element of the show that contributes to realizing his vision, I don't think it'll tell a story in the same way that the Glam Nation Tour told a story in three acts. I anticipate something like the recent Moscow concert, but even more intense.
I think it'll be a more free-form show with maybe a core set list to build from but room for varied song order, song substitutions, different covers or acoustic arrangements as the mood strikes, and with more room for the songs to breathe and more conversational connection with the audience. Also, different clothing night to night depending on his mood. A trunkload of outfits to mix and match! And to which he can add as he shops in different cities and countries along the road. I think that would be fun to see! I just expect a more spontaneous experience all around.
I loved the Glam Nation show, but given Adam's nature, I would guess (and I somehow got this impression a couple of times offstage) that he got weary of putting on the same costumes, doing the same moves, delivering the same songs and patter, even though it was his concept. I think he's probably now more comfortable with touring and being himself (or a version of himself or whatever character/persona a song calls for) on stage without the safety net. He can "play" at being a rock star. I felt that his staging of the GNT, and the mental story around it that he built for himself, helped him have some kind of emotional throughline night after night for his first tour and also made the transition easier from ensemble theater to being a solo pop star by doing a similar, consistent production every night. But I think he has to be itching for something new now. And it seems like now would be the time to go for something a bit more raw and improvised (especially since creative improvisation is one of his greatest gifts), because if he does blow up after this new CD and tour, and gets an even bigger budget and venues for his third tour, then he might want to take advantage of an extravagant setup like some other very popular singers use, which would probably dictate a more rigid arrangement once again.
LOL, I'm probably totally off base and he'll go in a direction I least expect. Maybe I just believe that's what he'll do because that's what I'm hoping to see, for a change of pace. I'm excited to see the concert (and hear new music!), whatever it turns out to be. It's just frustrating to think that his next tour won't start until February/March of next year at the earliest.

Misha I really enjoyed your thoughts here. The part I highlighted in red made me think a good title for Adam2 would be Adam Lambert RAW

Thanks, adamrocks. The title might be a little too risque for mainstream. But I do want unadulterated Adam. I just want to see him rock out as the spirit moves him--totally free and in the moment on stage. ETA: Like in your avi!
