I don't think Adam has anything to worry about. I thought this guy had some good moments but on the really climatic high notes I had to cringe a little...it bothered my ears. JMHO I can't analyze his voice like Cassie but I didn't get the overwhelming, joyous, and other worldly feeling that I get listening to the purity of Adam's voice. But this guy sounds better than a lot of pop artist out there. ETA: kryptoman68 just saw your post above mind and you are right..."he was all over the place"...with none of the dramatic calmness/emotion that Adam gives me.

It's weird. Very talented but I felt absolutely nothing. In fact I couldn't finish it. I guess that's how some of the people who don't like Adam feel. Freddie moves them but Adam does nothing for them. ETA: Just saw krypto and adamrock's comments and I have to agree. Painful. Maybe that is why I could not finish it.

I couldn't get to the end either...the interpretation is just too crazy with some severe pitch problems mixed in... the guy has a really amazing range, I think his lower register is much richer than Adam's, while his high register is beautiful but has a completely female sound quality to my ears - he would be an excellent countertenor in the classical music/opera world! It seems Asian audiences have appreciation for great voices, something that's lacking here, in the West...

Good voice. Going to see a TSMGO vid with Adam now, though. To let me 'feel the song'.

Some of the high notes sounded a bit strained to me and I think Adam has a tad more power in his voice... the voice tbh wasn't what excited me about the guy but how versatile he is! that is really rare! As I've sayed in regards to the Gammys...Adele, Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, etc...they're all great at what they do...but they're not very diverse in their performance style, in their vocal style... I'd love to hear cassies insights... @q3 *rofl* "(really! it was relevant! I swear!)"

There was a reason, why I did not post TSMGO version that Dimash sang. I had mentioned that he had a few not so great performances out on the web. This was one of them, so I agree with most comments here. The arrangement was not well done, all over the place stylistically, and the attempts to make this song his own did not work, his pronunciation does not help. Btw he was on the show critiqued for all that, and ended up in third place for that week, when in previous weeks he had been # 1 (they get ranked every week on that show, I think). I was never worried for Adam, are you kidding me? But having said that, picking out the bad performance to discredit somebody is not how I tend to play. If you want to listen to something he has done well, listen to the songs I had posted earlier on page 2. Kind of unfortunate that this other video just got posted 5 times, makes it look like you must hear it, which is not the case. But that other video (the French SOS... song, as well as the Vitas Opera2 one), are worthwhile for anyone interested in tenor vocals. The range that he demonstrates there, that he climbs through totally successfully and surefooted, is astounding. And he can both belt as well as sing in this pearly, clear head voice that we know from Adam too. And I have heard him sing with edge too, though less than Adam. So that is quite a technical arsenal, that puts him fair and square into this rare group of singers who can climb through multiple registers with ease, have high lyrical tenor voices with huge head voice, have a large bag of tricks and techniques at their disposal, are highly skilled, and so forth. This is a very small group of singers, but this guy belongs and probably towards the top, just like Adam does. Fair is fair. And so it is pretty reasonable to assume that he will meet Adam at some point, musically speaking. Elite club that is. Having said that, Dimash' voice is more operatic and lyric than Adam's and therefore less suited for rock songs. Some Queen fans miss the raw voice that they are used to from Freddie when they hear Adam. Well this guy has even less of that, and that was one further reason TSMGO did not work for him. Btw, he is also less capable to do funk or dance music, there are examples of that out there too. I'm not posting them. I have no idea how Dimash wants to plan his career. Perform as vocal sensation / voice protegee, and sing covers, which he surely can do, or whether he tries to have a modern recording career. If it is the latter, he is not doing himself favors with his choices on the show right now, imo, and I am not sure whether he is aware of that. That is one thing that Adam was really smart about, he stayed away from running solely on technical skill, it can box you in very quickly. And yet, we all are aware how difficult it is even for Adam to know how to take this incredible talent and bottle it just in the right way to fit somewhere into today's recording landscape and yet on the other hand stand out in his own way. It's not easy, and it will be harder still for this guy, should he attempt it. But enough of Dimash here. Let's post a palette cleanser that we can all agree on. Adam's voice will always shine through, never to worry. Remember this guy in red discovering Adam? www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mzOze5LEPcor this beauty: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxkkdDLeLdQ
