There's a funny bit of a song on Queen's "A Night At The Opera" that seems right for today. I have no idea why. No idea at all. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OU6EyXcFBxAIt is one of the few Queen track that I never, ever want to hear Adam sing. But it is incredibly suitable to Freddie. Lazing On A Sunday Afternoonby Freddie Mercury I go out to work on a Monday morning Tuesday I go off to honeymoon I'll be back again before it's time for Sunny-down, I'll be lazing on a Sunday afternoon Bicycling on every Wednesday evening Thursday I go waltzing to the Zoo I come from London town, I'm just an ordinary guy Fridays I go painting in the Louvre I'm bound to be proposing on a Saturday night (There he goes again) I'll be lazing on a Sunday lazing on a Sunday lazing on a Sunday Afternoon. While I know Adam could certainly sing this if he had to, I am sure it is not high on his list of songs to sing either. So....I wonder why it popped into my head, and seemed so right for now? Perhaps the desert sun is finally getting to me. It's been over 2 months now. And I think I am properly baked.

Just in case there's still time for my Happy Story... just a simple one, inconsequential really, but maybe it will bring a smile to some dear folks out there, so here goes-------- Ever since I was a very little girl and lived in Brooklyn, I've been a fan of the Dodgers baseball team. My daddy and I lived a few blocks away from Ebbets Field, where they played. We were too poor to buy tickets for the games so, on hot summer nights we often went up to the roof on the top of our apartment building ,along with some neighbors, and were able to see the score board, hear the roar of the crowd and listen to the voice of Vin Scully in the stadium as he narrated the games. The bright lights lit up the whole neighborhood and cheering and cursing could be heard in response to the actions from those hallowed grounds.Bottles of beer intensified reactions, and it was exciting when the Bums {as the Dodgers were affectionately called} executed a great play and cries of deep exasperation when they blew a game,{which, unfortunately, was a frequent occurrence!} My love affair with the Dodgers began when I was only 3 years old, and my excitement reached a pinnacle when they won their first World Series in 1955. I can still see the women waving their white dish towels out the apartment windows, screaming in ecstasy,"They did it, they did it! They won!" Eventually, the team broke the hearts of Brooklyn when the owners decided to move the Dodgers to Los Angeles. Many fans felt betrayed but I stayed loyal to the end---Couldn't let them go,{Just like my forever love for Adam.} Years later, fate brought me to the west coast where I could once again see my Dodgers-and this time INSIDE the beautiful ballpark! Fast forward to the rest of my story...All these years later--- I am blessed to have two darling grandchildren, one of them a 9 year- old grandson who understands the technicalities of the game of baseball more than I realized, and since they are both here "to keep me company" this weekend while my DH is visiting our son in northern California, we decided to watch the Dodgers play the Chicago Cubs in the first game of the playoffs together.Big sister read and played with her doll house and chatted with her friends, occasionally coming over to check the score when she heard our yelps and screams from inning to inning. My little guy's absolute sense of joy and exuberance as he watched the game with me brought me back to my Brooklyn days and the Boys of Summer as I watched him dance around and give me high 5's with every little and big moment of the game. I called him my "lucky charm" when I scooted him off to bed and it almost didn't matter if my Dodgers won or lost! Just to be clear, I did say ALMOST. Dodgers won 5-2 !

I am a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and I love them as much as you love the Dodgers. I also watched the game last night and cheered for my team. And another one tonight! It doesn't hurt to have a couple avid fans, and especially family, in the room with you when you are cheering on your team. I know you'll be yelling GO DODGERS tonight and I'll be yelling GO CUBS! )

Beautiful! I loved reading all those heartfelt sories. Thanks everyone for posting Hi Lorraine! Love your story so much. I must say that I share your passion for your favorite baseball team. I am a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and I love them as much as you love the Dodgers. I also watched the game last night and cheered for my team. And another one tonight! It doesn't hurt to have a couple avid fans, and especially family, in the room with you when you are cheering on your team. I know you'll be yelling GO DODGERS tonight and I'll be yelling GO CUBS! ) So we have avid baseball fans here as well as avid Adam fans! I am originally from the Detroit area, and am an avid Detroit Tigers fan, thanks to my Dad. As a lifelong Cubs fan can understand, it's not always easy being a Tigers fan, but during my lifetime the Tigers have had their moments of glory. My Dad used to take me to Tiger Stadium as a kid, as I was the youngest of three girls, and was the "son he never had" because I loved sports, etc. My loving Dad has been gone for many years, but I still relish my memories of our Tiger baseball games together. Often we would listen to the games together on the radio, and if there was a chance of the Tigers winning that night, we would head downtown (we lived in the northern suburbs) and get into the ballpark free after the middle of the 7th inning to watch the rest of the game. My Dad had a special parking lot near the stadium where they knew him well enough to find a place for him that late in the game. When I was working south of Detroit after graduation from vet school, we would often meet at the ballpark for a game, and the parking lot folks would have a place for both of us. After I moved out of state after graduate school, I was lucky enough to be with my Dad at the game when the Tigers clinched the American League pennant in 1984 - now that is really a special memory!! The only time I ever skipped a class in college was in 1968 when the Tigers were playing in the World Series. I was in the student bookstore on the floor with loads of other students, watching them win Game 7, and rejoicing with everyone. Aww, thanks Dad for all these precious baseball memories. I also think my wonderful Dad would understand my obsession for Adam, as he understood my obsession for the Beatles - special stories there too which I'll save for another "post something good" day.

Yes, I'm wondering what he's up to as well. Last Sat nite's concert aside, all we've gotten from him is various TV show clips, a green drink, pic of his palm trees and the blue sky and a bug IG story. He's been on his phone all week liking IG pics and listening to music. Terrance was out at The Abbey earlier in the week and several of his buddies were at The Standard later in the week....no Adam pics or mention. I assume his IG pics and stories were taken and posted at the time they were taken....but I suppose they could have been taken earlier and then posted. He told us he was jetlagged and he looked a little jetlagged/tired or maybe sick from a cold, etc. at the Points Fdn event. The last person we saw with him was Joey. Does anybody know if Joey and Max are still together? They haven't posted any pics, etc together for about a month I think. Seems Dana has totally dropped off of public social media, so no clues there. No idea about the status of the house sale...no indication Pharaoh is with him...no signs he's working on his music. I hope if he was sick or extremely jetlagged...he's feeling better by now. I was wondering if maybe he decided to go on one of those week long juice cleanses in prep for the upcoming QAL tour. He could be up to anything or nothing at all. At least we know he's alive and his TV and phone are both working. lol
