Thanks for that info. I wonder how Google translate decides to use he or she? That' s what I was wondering. I still think Google could/should upgrade their software. If an article mentions the name Adam Lambert as the subject and then follows with pronoun references....you'd think they would know that the name Adam is almost always or at least more likely to be a "him" and also being known online in social media as a singer and celebrity with a history of references, etc. you'd think Google could come up with a "he". I haven't really noticed or translated any articles that aren't Adam to see if they default to "she" for everybody. That makes no sense. In translating articles where Sauli is mentioned, I've seen him being referred to as a she as well...not sure if random or often. You have more faith in the sophistication of computer programs than I do. hahaha. Have you ever read an article that mentions several people by name and later says "HE commented that...."? You wonder which person the writer is referring to. So, for Google Translate to infer which pronoun to use in a translation it would first have to determine what name of which person the pronoun is referring to. (Our "rule" is the last person mentioned in the narrative by name or title is the one referred to with the pronoun. But, writers don't always follow that.) Then, Google would have to have a list of all the commonly used names (in all the common languages) along with the gender they most commonly are used for. (What about Sam, Joe, Tracy, Bobby, LaDonte, etc, etc)? What if the last person mentioned was referred to by last name only, or by title? That means if the article said "Lambert has a powerful voice" the computer would have to find where "Lambert" was previously mentioned along with the male name "Adam" in order to determine the appropriate pronoun. The same if the writer said "The SINGER possessed a stunning vocal range." The computer would have to "read" the rest of the article to "understand" that SINGER refers to the person named Adam Lambert. If the article had also talked about Roger or Lady Gaga singing, the computer would have to "understand" which SINGER was being referred to in the current sentence. I do not believe Google Translate has the capacity to understand the content it is translating in addition to the words in print. And a computer searching other online media for corroborating evidence of who "Adam Lambert" is? Can't see that all programmed into a simple translation matrix. I suppose it could be done, but such a sophisticated program for each language would be very expensive, not available to everyone for free. IMHO. Translation is a bitch!

Thanks for all your input/info cassie. Well if anybody could afford to upgrade their translation it's Google. Obviously it's not a priority. I'm not thinking it has to be perfect....just maybe a little bit better. Usually we can figure out what they are trying to say and sometimes the translations are really humorous.

There is no end to learning on this board...so interesting to read
Probably very obvious to most of you, that it goes without saying...but Tylers post of the empty bed...it would 'fit in' seamlessly into Adams music video ALN

Adding to the translation discussion. How can you expect a computer program to accurately translate poorly written sentence structure, grammatical errors, spelling errors, slang, or colloquial expressions? Any translation, no matter if it is the best program ever written, would have a high degree of failure simply from those challenges.

Such a computer program would cost LOTS of money to develop. They would not give it away for free.

It can be done, maybe not perfectly, but much closer than google translate. Perhaps using technologies such as fuzzy logic.

nightowl Thank you so much for the great recap. Glad you had a wonderful time. I often wonder about those stage seats...good to have such a different view but they do seem restricted. Odd to design it like that. I haven't watched WWFM on video yet. Going to have at least one 'new' song at the UK shows (however old it is) I'm already pysching myself up in an "it is what it is" way for the stage seats but the truth is that I purchased it (as I'm sure did others) expecting them to be the same as on the last tour - when Adam famously twirled with Mom. Had I been able to see the new set-up this time round I'm not sure I'd have taken the plunge - there doesn't even seem to be any nice souvenirs included. I remember Bama talking about a travel bag so I was hoping for something along those lines. I'm just really grateful that I know in advance what to expect so I won't feel let down on the day and will be able to enjoy the experience for what it is, limitations included. And luckily I have 4 shows in all, 2 seated and 2 in general admission so I'll get to see everything from different vantage points. Wish I could just be excited rather than feeling anxious every time I think about it! The phrase "own worst enemy" springs to mind!!

No big deal most artists have that one song. Freddie flubbed the lyrics consistently. But he would want to get it right for the next show. IT is becoming consistent now. Anyhow his voice sounded pure and strong. So not really noticable.
In reference to where you say that “[Adam] just can’t get that song right, can he LOL?”, you might want to check out some of the North American performances of BH before saying that he can’t get that song right. I don’t know what is happening with this group of shows so far, but I doubt it is because he doesn’t “want” to get things right on the next show. If anything, we have years of proof of Adam’s meticulous attention to his craft, and he has expressed on several occasions that he is often too hard on himself. (Sorry that this is in such a small font. I do not know what I did, nor can I locate how to correct the issue since my eyes are burning and my brain is mush after over twenty hours with no sleep). I’ll try and do better next time 😕

In Prague it was advertised with just the tour-program. Everywhere else it’s been advertised differently ( to a higher price). I think I read somewhere that they got really nice things in Munich. If that’s true, it was somehow the same as in the US-Tour. I just felt a bit let-down by these news, so I tried to read over it fast... But there should be hope for you!

So, who thinks Adam is styling himself on this leg of the tour?
