Too busy typing my post. But my take as above jives with you two! I totally agree! I didn’t mind the performance but I was mostly distracted by her leotard which reminded me of Freddie’s 70s leotard with sequins. I couldn’t get past that to notice much else.

agree. Did not enjoy that at all. I think her performance was contrived and it didn't mesh with the actual song. I think you'll see alot more grounded performance with Cooper at the Oscars. I Think she was trying to Chanel something. Prob diddn't come off. Better off with a song like that to go Accapella.

3ku1 that's what I was thinking too...with Bradley there the performance would have looked different. All that aside: with the grammys over we're only a few days away from the Elvis tribute Eta: with Gaga something a YouTube vocal coach (who reacts to anything music related) Tristan Paredes comes to mind, he said that about Fergies national anthem. As the performer it's hard to watch yourself from the outside, sometimes you're just so cought up in an idea and simply don't see it, but where was the team to tell her it's not working? sizzling63 well yes, one might say she overpowered him, i didn't think it was that disturbing and he did have his time to shine at the beginning on the piano. P.s. Yes, Tori did a gospel album called 'hiding place' she is quite religious and she calls it a special project.

I just finished watching the recorded Grammys. It fell pretty flat for me aka I couldn't really connect, but I am probably not the most objective person to judge as I can't stop comparing to how Adam would have done. There were only two performances that stood out for me enough to want to watch them again - Janelle Monae and H.E.R. I also found Dolly Parton quite fun to watch, but I can't stomach Miley Cyrus anymore. And she ruined the Shawn Mendez performance for me. Gaga... ouch! I liked her in the ASIB movie so much better, also persona wise. I wasn't a fan of J-Lo leading the Motown section, and I hope that she does a more inspiring job with Heartbreak Hotel. I think I will find the Oscars more enjoyable and relaxing to watch. The Grammys tend to put me on the edge.

Watched the Grammys tonight. Looking forward to seeing the day Adam will be there in their midst....I thought Alicia Keys hosting and performance were classy and beautiful. What a sweet surprise to see our former First Lady at the beginning of the event... Lady Gaga's performance made me cringe. It seems she can't possibly ever get enough attention. I respect her writing ability, her creative talents, but her need to go over the top always leaves me wondering --Why?

agree. Did not enjoy that at all. Agree!! I just happened to turn on the tv and saw a performer somewhere in the performance. I wondered who was singing. I could barely understand the words, and I have not seen the movie nor have I heard the song Swallow. Then singer lifted her head...and I thought is that Gaga? I thought she was singing one of her songs, postering, bending in weird positions and putting her hand on a guys chest, then I heard "swallow". Honestly...I changed to my PVR shows. I would hazard a guess that the interpretation tonight was far removed from the context of how it was sung in the movie. Did she ruin the song? "Believe" was a reinterpretation that enhanced the lyrics. Glad I am on team Adam. Shallow
