There are so many Adam fans who are no longer active on this board and/or on twitter and Facebook too. People move on to other things or are busy with their lives. Some drifted away who weren't so fond of the QAL collaboration I think. I will always support Adam, his voice and his music but I do get discouraged when he doesn't always get the recognition and opportunities that I think he should. I realize he gets a great deal of recognition and has had amazing opportunities, so I have to argue with myself about setting my wishes too high.......(sigh). I've tried to keep my expectations for him in check. We know he deserves more recognition and opportunities but after 10 years things are where they are. There's only so much the core fanbase can do. His SM followers numbers seem to stay about the same. I keep telling myself that we've had 4 eras of solo music and all the QAL accolades and paydays and TV features and animation work, etc. He's really had a diverse career over the past decade. I love the fact that he's so talented and versatile and isn't a one trick pony or overnite sensation. Longevity is what he said he wanted and that appears to be happening. I'm really happy about the Queen collab....think it's a big positive as far as worldwide recognition and a big paycheck which is enabling him to make the music he wants to make now. My Twitter feed which is about 95% Adam fans does seem to be less Adam active except for the really diehards and some of the original diehards hardly ever post anymore. Politics has taken over the postings of many and I've had to mute quite a few and turn off their RTs so I may be missing some Adam postings but don't think many. I'm on Twitter for Adam and a little for Alabama football...lol. I can't see me slacking off in my love for and support of Adam. I'm happy and proud and passionate to be an OG diehard.

My take is I am thrilled that Adam is no longer interested in following the trends. But it makes me wonder if the labels were keeping him chasing the It guys/gals and maybe it was not his choice. He was never going to be a solo arena artist because that would require so much more radio play and exposure in the US than he was getting. But now that he is not following the trends, I'm afraid that without a big label behind him, his radio play will be even harder. I do like the support he is getting from his management and hope it is enough to keep him out front and on great streaming lists and getting tv exposure. But we have heard nothing about a radio push so maybe there is no plan for that. But he seems very happy with the way things are going so I guess they are going as he planned. No matter what, he will be able to tour solo if he wants. But on what level and scale is the question?

Spoiler Alert if you don't want to hear about Rocketman...... Back from seeing Rocketman. I really liked it. It kinda just stopped about 25-30 years ago with the ending showing clips of how long he's been sober, married and his two kids. I thought the musical format worked well with the songs describing what was happening in his life at the time. That was well done IMO. The director and time period and great songs were similar to BoRhap...and the drugs and the gay parts and the evil opportunistic managers. It kept me totally engaged thruout. And as far as the R rated "gay sex scene"....wtf was up with that? It didn't show anything but kissing and somebody's back and someone's knees. You couldn't even tell who was who. That should not have gotten an R rating IMO. I was reminded of Adam when Elton got a gift of an Elvis album singing Blue Suede shoes....and the Troubadour which is still happening in LA. The mom and dad were really cold and evil....I hope that was embellished, but probably not....and his relationship with Bernie Taupin was a highlight. I saw the movie last night too. I liked it a lot but found it more depressing and less uplifting than BoRhap which is surprising considering that Elton has had a much longer and happier life than Freddie. But it is what the focus was of each movie I guess. BoRhap focused more on the music and Rocketman seemed to be more about overcoming addiction and learning to love yourself. I would recommend the movie though.

The major record labels seem to have so much influence on radio (and also still on sales and streaming numbers too it seems) which is a bummer, cuz without them radio is a huge long shot I think. And without radio, streaming and purchases suffer, catch 22. But creative freedom and happiness are also very important, and I applaud Adam for following his own path, whatever it may be. Regarding a tour, I really want him to be able to tour with his own music and with a budget that gives him whatever bells and whistles he would like to tour with, and that's the main reason I want his music to be heard and appreciated by more people.....

Adam’s path with his two parallel careers is so unique that it is impossible to apply any “normal” projection of how he needs to be promoted imo... I think the “message” gets muddled in a way, like for instance Ellen’s last words after Adam’s performance were not about the song but about the QAL tour - caught me by surprise actually... the tour is sold out completely, so WHY? Was it to give Adam more credence? every interview gravitates towards QAL, understandably so, but it takes time away from his own music/message... One thing is obvious- he is so financially secure that he can now afford to follow his artistic vision, which is just awesome! Makes me more excited about this album than any before! And so far, the two songs we have are amazing!
