I guess I just don't get it! Why isn't New Eyes released to radio. It's a great song, I should be hearing it everywhere. What is the issue with his music not getting radio play. I looked at all the charts today and newly released songs are already on the charts. New Eyes has been out a month or so. What's the delay? Seems nothing's changed. Sorry everyone but I'm very frustrated with the whole thing! Don't mean to be a downer but this BS is getting to me! The very simple answer to this question is that Adam does not want it released to radio. As he has said in recent interviews and with great clarity, this time he is in charge.

What's the point then, how are people going to hear it if it's not on the radio! He'll never have another hit doing that. I remember him being in a car hearing WWFM on the radio and he was so excited. Isn't that generally the goal! People that don't follow him like us think he's faded away! I think I just need to step back for a while!

Unless I'm totally mistaken, the artist doesn't decide if a song gets played the radio. It's the program directors who decide, right? Each station has somebody who decides what will be played or not. I think Adam would love his songs to be played on the radio. Why wouldn't he? But singers can't just demand that their music be played.
I don't know what "released to radio" means. If a song is released by the artist as a single, a radio station can choose to play it or not, right? Please explain this if I have it all wrong.
And BTW, I am a committed Adam fan whether his music gets played on the radio or not. He fascinates me and makes me happy in a million ways.

One of the many things I learned by hanging here over the last 10 years is that “release to radio” costs mucho $s! I remember “at least a million” from a discussion several years ago...it could be several mil now, idk... in other words it’s not that easy... someone, usually a label, does the push and spends $s for the push... will Empire do it? May be they will for the next single... the one coming out “very soon”, I.e. in time for GMA...

I follow him daily. That won't change, I'm just venting. If program directors get to choose what gets played, then WTF is their problem considering some of the crap that gets played???

That's what I thought too. What a bitter and mean review. I REALLY understood from the get go that he didn't like it, but he was very explicit in the details WHY he didn't like it It actually sounded like a review from a LEGO-fan, who doesn’t know anything about Playmobil and isn’t interested in it either. I‘m curious about the reviews from the European and even more from our German press. Every child here knows Playmobil and grew up with it. (As well as LEGO-there has always been a kind of rivalry, that now extends to the bid screen.) The second review is a bit better: it says, that kids won‘t get bored. www.screendaily.com/reviews/playmobil-the-movie-annecy-review/5140284.articleI do not expect the American reviews for Playmobil Movie to be great because there is really no emotional attachment to Playmobil here. North America is Lego country. And for the "toy movies" they rely on some emotional connection to the toy brand and experience.

Of course I have no way of knowing for sure, but it’s possible that the song released to radio is the one he described as the bop, coming after the QAL tour. Maybe Super Power given the description? And since the next video is a continuation of New Eyes, will the music stay in the same lane? (I’m hoping for a little more oomph personally) . We will find out pretty soon! As for ballads, of course he does great covers of ballads. People respond to his covers. But I don’t think he’s had a ballad yet in his own catalog that could have been a hit for him. Easier to connect to a familiar song as well. YMMV Yep maybe he will release something to radio after the tour and I guess then the tv shows will be back. As for thinking none of his ballads would be a hit for him, that is clearly the opinion of some of his fans. But other fans think some of his ballads are good enough to be hits, if played a lot. Just as good or better as some of the other ballads that became hits for others. I'm one of them, lol. But we will never know because none of his emotional and moving songs have ever gone to radio. So of course people, who are not his fans, would find it hard to connect to a song they never heard. TBH, I no longer think it will happen so will just support whatever he puts out. And I don't think he will ever get big radio play in the US again (like he did with WWFM, 2xp), with a ballad or bop or anything, so I would settle for any play with any song. GT (gold) got average play in the US but not really even expecting that level again either. Tho, I would be very happy to be wrong. But Adam has a plan for his music and as long as he gets what he wants out of it, that is what matters the most. Perhaps there is a different definition of "ballad" but mid-tempo ballads are Adam's musical power lane -- MW (Idol version), WWFM, etc.
I trust Adam and his team to get this right. In the meantime, I am looking forward to the next track.
